What are the greatest obstacles of full access to the American Dream? Is it race, gender, social class, education, or perhaps lack there of? Possibly it’s the carnage of a greatly misguided economic policy, or maybe it’s just simply having a future greater than our past. Based on the belief of many Americans the American Dream is the faith that any individual can gain success through arduous effort. Race plays an important role in this ideology. As Martin Luther King, Jr. implies in his speech I Have A Dream, “Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.
