Observation Of California Traffic Violations
With my observance I have seen many California citizens speed through red lights, make inappropriate lane changes, run through stop signs, make unauthorized lane changes and commit many other traffic violations all while in the presence of active emergency response team's (ERT's). I have not heard of any specific laws set to regulate drivers who violate California traffic laws while in the presence of a responding ERT vehicle. Without these laws being set strictly, police, fire, ambulance and other rescue
Although it is violation if you do not pull right of the road and for repeat offenders a misdemeanor charge. Often to many times do I see drivers drag about before actually pulling to the right. I am asking that the Corey town legislators

This goes the same for my station, which is located next to Interstate-10. Traffic flows from San Antonio to Houston daily with travelers, commuters, and truck drivers who are hauling supplies for work. When an accident occurs, we respond promptly and determine the appropriate resources that are required. With just a push of a button, dispatch can radio and request to deliver more units to the scene from rescue, HAZMAT, ambulances for multiple patients, and even air life for extreme cases. The beauty about San Antonio is being the seventh largest city in the nation and consisting of multiple hospitals at its convenience from all levels and houses two level one hospitals for critical care. This was not the case in the motorcoach crash in Utah that took the lives of nine passengers seven who died on scene and two on transport to…

Most people think that the sole purpose of the California Highway Patrol is to stop speeders, issue tickets and stick to the freeways. Unbeknownst to most people there are many layers to the California Highway Patrol. From being a safety dispatcher, helicopter pilot, to officer. All that the CHP represent and do is in their mission statement. “The mission of the California Highway Patrol is to provide the highest level of safety, service, and security to the people of California. This is accomplished through five departmental goals: 1) Prevent Loss of Life, Injuries, and Property Damage - To minimize the loss of life, personal injury, and property damage resulting from traffic collisions through enforcement, education, and engineering. To enforce the provisions of the California Vehicle Code and other laws to prevent crime. 2) Maximize Service to the Public and Assistance to Allied Agencies - To maximize service to the public in need of aid or information, and to assist other public agencies when appropriate. 3) Manage Traffic and Emergency Incidents - To promote the safe and efficient movement of people and goods throughout California, and to minimize exposure of the public to unsafe conditions resulting from emergency incidents and highway impediments. 4) Protect Public and State Assets - To protect the public, their property, state employees, and the state's infrastructure. To collaborate with local, state, and federal public safety agencies to protect California. 5) Improve Departmental Efficiency - To continuously look for ways to increase the efficiency and/or effectiveness of departmental operations.” http://www.chp.ca.gov/html/mission.html.…

Evidence of the number of fatalities of running red lights was found on MDOT (Mississippi Department of Transportation) website. “According to data from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA), a total of 7,799 lives were lost from red light running between 2004 and 2013 across the nation.” I know the numbers are small compared to some of the other leading causes of death, but that number could be smaller or even non-existent if we just paid attention and slowed down. More evidence was found on MDOT’s website about the fatality numbers. “In 2013 alone, 679 people were killed and an estimated 127,000 were injured in crashes that involved red light running.” This number shouldn’t be that high. Slowing down for a bus is not that hard or time-consuming it’s one of the easiest things you can do no and lives should be lost at all. These numbers should be a wake up call for you. It’s a topic that shouldn’t even be relevant to the world because of how easily avoidable it is. Just remember, next you see a bus at a stop stop your vehicle and wait because whatever event or place you have to go to can wait. No event is worth someone’s…

I don’t have my license yet so I don’t really have experience on the road let alone an expressway, but I tend to look outside my window while my family and I are out on the road. While doing so I never really see too many policemen watching out for any lawbreakers. I could be mistaken or seriously oblivious to their presence, but I don’t know. To me, it seems like there more crime than the authorities can handle. The article states that “...there were 224 wrong-way crashes on the turnpike system statewide from 2003 to 2012, including 22 fatal crashes.” That’s roughly 24.8 crashes a year. As I’ve said before, driving on the wrong side of the road is illegal, especially if it results in even a single fatality. There should be more measures taken to prevent wrong-way accidents or at least lower the rate of…
