On-the-job training (OJT), for others, is beneficial and for some, not. Apparently, it has advantages and disadvantages which university staff and administration created as a basis whether or not the OJT program must be included in the students' required curriculum. Some universities require students to take OJT because they believe that it enhances their academic performance by supplying knowledge based on actual application. “The American Accounting Standard acknowledged the benefit of a period or practical experience incorporated into the academic preparation of an accountant.” (Warinda, 2013) Students, may they be academically inclined or not, have goals in preparing

It is also purported in the study of Rigsby (2013) that the internship experience is useful in getting more job offers whether the job offer is received from the internship firm or not. On the next section of the research, job competency factors that are enhanced by internship will be elaborated and explained thoroughly.
However, some universities also do not include internships in their curricula because they are thought to be unnecessary. In the academe’s point of view and based on the opinions of the trainees, students do not benefit from the internship attachment in obtaining the relevant knowledge and practical experience to assist them to better adapt to their future working environment (Muhammad et al., 2009). Whether or not the student has undergone an internship experience, if the student came from a prestigious institution, his/her resume will be put into the chosen
