Discuss the position of each of the two articles you selected. The topic I choose is coffee, the two articles I selected to discuss about coffees advantage and disadvantage. The first article’s title is called “Coffee drinking causes low birth weight in babies and prolonged birth”. This article discuss about how coffee affects the weight and delivery time of an expecting mother’s baby. Mothers who drink two cups of coffee a day are risking of having an underweight baby and longer pregnancy. In general, caffeine in any food or drink are risky for that baby. The second articles title is called “Coffee grounds make great supplements, a study shows”. This article discusses regarding how ground coffee is benefical and contains a lot of nutrients. Agricultural and food chemistry are trying to make use of the used coffee grounds as supplements. This two articles have their own two different point of views in which they have their own advantages and benefits.
What health claims are stated in the articles, such as drinking coffee every day will lower one’s risk for cancer? The health claims stated in these articles are both for the benefits of people. The first article states that expecting mother’s who drinks upto 2 cups of coffee daily can risk of having an underweight baby and delay in delivery. The second health claim stated in the same article is that “being born small can lead to catch-up growth and this in trun can lead to obesity, diabetes and certain cancers in adult life.
