Nut Project Bio 225
Analysis of Exercise I am a very active person so therefore I went over the recommend minutes. I am active six days out the week. I usually take one day off to allow my body to rest and heal. I would think I’m used to the by now. I preform at least 3 hours the day. Based upon my findings in class I do meet the recommendation for cardio, strength and flexibility. In the beginning I was the weakest link but I constantly stuck at it. Now my leg and arm strength are is stronger than ever. I am a very flexible person. I can take my body in many positions and there is no after burn. At the end of each performance I do some breathing tricks to get stable and me going. Also I believe I should balance my body out. As if I was so do something with my right arm I have to do it with my left.
Analysis of Intake vs. Target
My plan is based on a 2200 Calorie allowance per day. I came with a discovery. When I eat lunch, I don’t eat dinner and vice versa.
Day 1
I ate very little. I only consumed a chicken breast. Which was 148/2200 kcals.
Day 2
I did consume any grains. I had 1 cup of vegetables. The recommended intake is 3 cups daily. No fruit or daily was consumed. Protein was consumed I ate ½ of the recommended amount.
Day 3
I ate grains just 1 oz. of the recommended 7 oz. However I didn’t eat any vegetables. I ate ½ the recommended intake of fruit. No diary products were in my diet. I had a higher protein intake than the previous days.
Day 4
No grains were consumed. My vegetable intake went up by this day. Red and Orange. No fruit. No Diary. One this day I went over the recommended intake for protein.
Day 5
I only consumed an ounce of grains and the recommended intake is seven. I went over the recommended intake ½ a cup. I ate ½ the recommended intake for the fruit. Finally a little bit of diary was found in my diet. Very low protein on this day not meeting the requirements but I still had an intake. 747/2200 Kcals.
Day 6
My grain intake was finally over 50%. My vegetable intake was very low. I went over the 50 percentile with fruit on this day. Diary was found in my diet however not even a whole cup. My protein intake was very low. 855/2200 kcals.
Day 7
My grain intake was not even half of the recommended intake. My vegetables intake was very low. Not even a whole cup of fruit was consumed this. No diary was in my diet. My protein intake was higher due the fact I had consumed seafood. I took 1 tsp. of the recommend. 936/2200. Kcals.
Week Overview
I kept protein in my diet no matter what the amount was and I believe that was good. As the days went on I tried to eat a serving a fruit. I very seldom ate the required or should I say recommended amount. However I did try.
Now this project was over a span of 10 weeks. My second set of data should be better than the first, I would hope. Lets see. Week 10.
Day 1
I took in grains but didn’t meet the recommended intake. I ate 33% of vegetables. ½ of the recommended intake for fruit. No diary was found in my diet. More than 50% of protein. 507/220 kcals.
Day 2
1/7oz. of grains took in not very good I would say. Over 50% in the vegetables. ½ of the recommended intake of fruit. Very minimal diary. More than 50% of protein. 1557/2200 Kcals.
Day 3
My intake in grains was low 1/7 oz. I didn’t even consume a whole cup of vegetable. ½ of the recommended intake was consumed. No diary was consumed in diet. I went over 100% for my protein intake on this day. 1tsp. of oil was consumed out the recommended 6. 910/2200 Kcal.
Day 4
I only had an ounce of grains. Not even a whole cup of vegetables. ½ of the recommended intake of fruit. No diary. 100% of the protein was consumed on this day. 4/6 tsp. of oil was consumed. 991/2200 Kcals.
Day 5
I finally consumed more than a 1 oz. of grains but not much. Not a lot of vegetables were consumed. 100% of the recommended intake for fruit was consumed. No diary. Very low protein not even an ounce. 1 tbs. of oils. 467/2200 Kcals.
Day 6
No grains were taken in on this day. No vegetables either. No fruit. 100% of the protein was taken in. 1 of the 6 tsp. Were taken in. 588/2200 Kcals.
Day 7
I consumed 2 oz. of grains and that most I consumed through this whole project. Ni vegetables. Went over the fruit intake, which is always good. A little bit of diary was consumed on this day. 1oz. of protein. 2 tsp. of the recommended 6 of oil.
Week Overview
I consumed a lot of fruit. I tried to eat grains. Protein was in the diet everyday of the week. I never went over kcals for the diet.
Week 1 Versus Week 2
The weeks appeared to be pretty similar to me. Very low grain was taken in. I ate fruit everyday. Protein played a role in my diet. I can easily add more grains because grains can be found in a variety. Of foods. The reason there was no diary because I am not very fond of diary products never have eaten any. How ever I can have an ice cream on occasion to get the diary into my diet. I can try to eat more vegetables. One day my plate would look like My Plate. I plan to keep a variety of food in my diet cause the way it looks now is horrible. I consume the same things and don’t have a variety of different products so that will change.

    1) I did list down what I had for the last 24 hours and I found I had something from each of the five major food groups which are correct per MyPlate.com. I exceeded the number of servings for vegetables because I take romaine lettuce and add a little bit of seasoning (Mrs. Dash) to it and eat it like I would eat chips. This helps me to get the crunch I like and also keep my caloric intake at a minimum.…

My protein target was 46 grams, and the first and third day shows that I went over what I was supposed to eat, but the second day I was under the target amount. My lipid target was between 20%-35%, and again the first and third day indicates that I went over the target amount. The second day shows that I was in the range for the amount of lipids needed. Since my carbohydrates and proteins were outside of the range, I probably would have removed the five pieces of chicken strips, the five chocolate chip cookies, the four macaroon…

The results for my new diet when compared to the recommendations from the SuperTracker are very bad indeed. I am not eating enough grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy or protein foods. An average for the amount of grains I consumed was 6 and a half ounces which is 2 servings each of these days. I consumed one and a half cup of fruits and vegetables which is about 2 servings on Saturday. I did not eat any other fruit during this three day period. I also consumed a quarter cup of dairy. From the proteins foods group, I consumed 2 and a half ounces and from the oils groups which is not a serving at all, but when this measured is about 2 teaspoons.…

No statistically significantly difference in mean energy intake was detected between the first 24-hour recall and the equivalent day in My Meal Mate (an insignificantly different difference of 68 kJ was observed). No statistically significant differences in macronutrients were noted for first day’s measurements. A statistically significant energy intake difference of 441 kJ was noted between the second 24-hour recall and its corresponding day in My Meal Mate. A statistically significant difference in dietary fat intake was also detected among the second day’s measurements. Interestingly, the measurements of other macronutrients did not display a similar trend: no statistically significant differences existed among protein or carbohydrates. No statistically significant difference in energy or macronutrients existed when comparing the average of the two 24-hour recalls against the average quantity of the two corresponding days in My Meal Mate. Similarly, no significant differences existed when comparing the average of two 24-hour recalls against the average of the entire 7 day diary recording in My Meal Mate. Correlations between the two methods were remarkably high. The correlation for the first 24-hour recall was calculated at .77. For the second 24-hour recall, the correlation coefficient was found to be .85. A correlation coefficient of .85 was also found when comparing the average of the two 24-hour recalls and…

My essay will cover the recorded nutrient report from the foods that a typical college student had eaten during in the past three days. The web-based nutrient report that the college student used to record his meals was from MyPlate. “MyPlate is the current nutrition guide published by the United States Department of Agriculture, depicting a place setting with a plate and glass divided into five food groups.[1] It replaced the USDA 's MyPyramid guide on June 2, 2011, ending 19 years of USDA food pyramid diagrams.[2] MyPlate will be displayed on food packaging and used in nutrition education in the United States”("MyPlate," 2011, p. 1).
