I was compiling the patient’s time planner for the last shift of my practicum and ended up being allocated to the same patients, as two newly placed enrolled nursing students. Throughout the shift, I assisted in orientating the students to the hospital ward procedures. This included, teaching the students how to write up a time planner as required by the ward, for each shift. Going through each patient’s file, medication chart and handover notes, I established what information we required and transcribed it on the planner. Explaining, that it enabled us as nurses, to create a picture of the care required for the patient, on that shift.
