Nursing Field Experience Essay

It’s absolutely mind blowing to think of all the things I’ve learned and experienced in just three years of me working in the nursing field. It’s not entirely about applying my knowledge from what I learned in the classroom to the field; the experiences I continue to have as a nurse are basically lessons about life itself and I feel blessed to be in a profession that because of all these things, I can continuously acquire new knowledge and grow as a human being. Being a private duty nurse, some things are already set in stone when it comes to what needs to be accomplished but, it’s not necessarily only about putting what I was taught into action, it’s really about how I am able to make smart decisions and how I master the fear that gets in the way when a situation occurs while on the job. Being able to tackle the many unforeseen challenges is so important. There’s really no telling what type of day you’re going to
I began to work full time increasing my hours. I decided to take on longer shifts and take on increased workload as I took on another patient. Caring for my patients have increased my toil but has not slowed down my drive because I am well equipped to take on more responsibilities.
My passion for nursing has grown . I developed a relationship with my patients to bring them not only physical care but my positive attitude I bring each day, that in itself goes a long way. After spending these few years working in the field, that overwhelming urge to further my education has never stopped weighing on my heart. One thing that nursing has taught me is that I’m not done learning and I will never be done learning.
I want to further my education because I have a drive and an eagerness to learn more. There is so much more I can learn and apply to my job. Being a nurse has always given me that sense of accomplishment once I complete a shift. I want to do more, I want to be
