Nursing Career Research Paper
I choose nursing as my career path because I want an honest career where I can help others. My desire to help others in need comes from watching my sickly grandmother health deteriorate before my eyes and not being able to help her. I was one of my grandmothers care takers, for a whole year I watched my grandmother suffer. I watched a scab go to a stage four decubiti’s ulcer, in less than two weeks all because she was not changed positions every two hours and proper cleaning techniques was not used due to lack of education. I would love to help others like my grandmother. My grandmother was the biggest eye opener for me because I lived it. Watching someone you love to be in so much pain and not being to help them because you lack the education

A prior class on capstone fundamentals would have enlighten me on how to write a capstone that is agreeable.…

It is estimated that by 2025, non-physicians will take the leading role in primary care with nurse practitioners (NPs) providing care that is comparable or of better quality of care than that of physicians. Nurse practitioners have provided primary care services to vulnerable populations in underserved areas for more than 50 years. As NPs practice to the fullest extent of their scope of practice, they can fill the gap for primary care shortages (Jarrell, 2016). Understanding the core nurse practitioner (NP) competencies can help NPs be prepared to implement their full scope of practice. These core competencies were described by Thomas et al. (2012) and consist of nine competency areas: scientific competencies, leadership competencies, quality…
