Nurse Educator Philosophy
When I think about nursing profession, I envision, the act of kindness, compassion, caring, patient-nurse relationship that transcend the act of just doing a job. The nursing profession is a vocation in a pure form of caring beyond the scope of the meaning of the word, and the show of the divine nature of the nurse’s compassion, which creates a bridge and the purest form of relationship between the nurse, the patient and the communities. Nursing is a commitment to oneself, to patients, families, communities as well as the population. During a time of need, nurses assist in ways that beyond a task, it becomes an act of caring and compassion that creates a healing process not just for the individual and the family but the whole community as well as a personal growth for the nurse. I believe that the same act of kindness, caring, and compassion as a clinical nurse should translate into my nurse educator’s role. …show more content…
This paper explores my teaching philosophy as a nurse educator, a learning process that places much focus on the student’s success as well as personal growth, my overall goals and envisions, my expectation of students in the learning process and my plans for continual professional development as a nurse

    In order to define a personal philosophy of nursing, it is very important to understand the meaning of the term “philosophy”. As for me, this issue can be perfectly addressed with the definition that presents philosophy as a specific attitude towards life and reality that evolves according to the beliefs of each nurse (Edwards, 1997).     My philosophy in nursing is the devotion to deliver the utmost personal patient care I am capable of delivering to the ill, may it be physically, mentally, or emotional, as well as to the challenged in time of need. In order to define my philosophy of nursing, I had to take time out and re-examine my value system, and my beliefs. As I think about it I know I am a caring and compassionate nurse.
