Title: Twilight
Author: Stephanie Meyer
# Pages (200 or more): 498
Country of Origin: New York

In Stephen Meyer’s book, Twilight, a girl named for real Isabella but likes better to

be called Bella comes into a knew town and fell there in love with Edward, who is

how she finds out a vempire. She meets his family who tries not to hunt humans and

has many adventures with him.

I like the book because everything is described very good so the story seems so

realistic. Also the idea of the story is very good because it combinates science fiction

with a love story and everybody can feal with Bella and Edward. The author became

really famouse because of the twilight saga. The first book is Twilight, the second is

New moon, the third is Eelipse and the fourth is Breaking dawn.

The main characters are Bella and Edward. Bella comes from Pheonix, Arizona. There

she lives with her mother and her mother’s boyfriend Phil. But because Phil has to

-1-

travel a lot and her mother wants to travel with him Bella has to move to her father

Charlie who lives in Forks , a small city in Washington. There she goes to school gets

to know new people. Amongst others Edward. Who gets her attention because he

saves her out of an accident. But he would not had been able to save her when he

wouldn be a vampire with extraordinary powers. They fell in love with eachother and

the adventure beginns. Bella is a verry pretty intelligent and emotional character. She

does not want that other people get hurt because of Edwards and her love. She

wants to save the people she loves also when she has to risk her own life for that.

Edward loves Bella and want to be with her what is verry difficult because he is

scared that he hurts her. He tries very hard to be a good vampire but sometimes he

does not have the controle over his dark side.

Edward Cullen, Jacob Black, and Bella Swan might not be the most artful characters of created, but that’s not stopping young teenage girls, and some older, from reading and obsessing over the series. The Twilight series has had a very successful run, in both the movie industry and in the book industry. In 2009, Twilight novels constructed 16 percent of all book sales. This means that four out of every twenty-five books sold were part of the series. In addition to that, the first Twilight movie created made roughly $70.6 million on its opening weekend. While its soundtrack went on to sell around 2.2 million copies worldwide. As Sady Doyle phrased it in Girls Just Wanna Have Fangs “Yet, if the numbers are any indication, you don’t need male fans to dominate the marketplace.” (Ch. 10, Pg. 267)…

If Twilight is a vampire story with the sex removed, it is also a vampire story with the violence removed. Though violence does occur, in the books it is told at a remove: Bella is always being told about what happened, not actually seeing it and experiencing it for herself, because, of course, girls are far too delicate for anything bloody and dangerous and painful. This is particularly noticeable in the books, because the two movies so far have done the best they could at showing the violence which is only alluded to in the books. Of course, this is made possible because the movies aren’t so tightly focused on Bella’s point of view and can show us things she…

The super silly, slow, and repetitive books series Twilight is addictive and Sady Doyle can't stop reading it. However, the book series has its right place that's needed in the teen age girls market. It takes them away from the horror of puberty. Both, the books and the movies series were a huge hit, even the soundtrack was in the top selling albums. Yet, its girlish key success factor also was the reason of the big backlash against it. The Twilight fan base was really ridiculed and mocked by every important magazine and newspaper. The Twilight fans were not welcomed in the geeks’ world, the quality of the books and the movies sets it apart from other super heroes’ horror stories.…

In Sady Doyle’s article, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fangs: The Unwarranted Backlash Against Fans of the World’s Most Popular Vampire – Romance,” is based on a typical fairy tale romance that is successful because it is geared towards teenage girls that have an idea of love; only this time it is not of Romeo and Juliet, but of a vampire and a human being. Although Doyle reveals that the Twilight series is not one of the best reads, she offers her insight on the importance on catering to a specific audience and how it aids in success.…
