It was the first day that school was out. And, the old movie theater had just shut down last year. We wanted to go check it out. There was only four of us John, Luke, Ian and I. We had no more than one day.…
I opened the door and it made the most annoying noise ever. Is it really that hard to throw on some WD40? Anyways I walked in and saw three bowls of porridge. I went up to the first one and took a spoonful, and goddamn was it hot. It nearly burned my tongue off. I can guarantee that whoevers porridge this was just is a complete phony and just wants to look like a tough guy. Anyways, I went to the second bowl and it was freezing. This person also had to be a phony, thinking they were a cool polar bear or something. So I tried out the third bowl and it was just how I liked it, someone must of tried copying my style, yet another phony. I ate the whole bowl though and it was quite filling. School didnt end for another hour so I decided to poke around a bit.…
It was 8th period and I was working on my Civil Rights project with my group. I was going to my first basketball game. My mom never lets me go anywhere, so I was excited to go to my schools basketball game. We were all packing up when my friend Citlaly asked, “ Are you going to the basketball game after school?”…
In fifth grade we took a field trip to see the Cleveland Orchestra, but on the way back to SJJ, one of the buses broke down. Two of the buses had to combine and everyone on the combined bus sang songs the rest of the way back to school. The breakdown ended up holding up the buses back at school from leaving from 5 to 10 minutes.…
“My name is Greg Gregson. The kids at school call me Mr.G, which is one of the sort of an abbreviation some of the more popular teachers get.”…
So I had to put on my hat. This was my senior year of high school. It was packed outside. To make things worse, the wind was blowing. It took us ten minutes to walk to the Lincoln Memorial. While walking I saw a concession stand that sold hot chocolate.…
I need all kinds of fruits in my basket! What does that mean? At Damien, this phrase completely defines us. Damien Memorial High School Is filled with a lot of different ethnicities and different backgrounds. Damien to everyone may seem like it’s a bad school or we suck at sports and just another small school, but we’ve got heart and strong support for our school. The question is what makes Damien different from other schools and what unites us. What makes us different is the brotherhood we have here is too strong for anyone to break, and you can try but you will fail because we got everyone’s back at our school and no one can break our bond.…
At exactly 6pm the bell was rung which signaled to everyone that dinner was now ready. We all piled in to eat an assortment of chicken, rice, vegetables, and salad. After dinner a bunch of the girls, including myself, sat on the dock letting our feet dangle down by the water and sharing stories trying to get to know one another better. I was surprised to find that a lot of us actually had a lot more in common, other than being in the honors program, then I would of imagined. Later on that night we all gathered around a camp fire enjoying our smore's and anticipating what the next day had in store for us.…
In 1999, U.S news and world report listed Dewitt Clinton high school as one of the 96 out standing schools in the country , but today the board of education has given the school an F deeming it a failing school. They are many points that can be proven to indicate that the school is an outstanding school. They are the alumni, the numerous programs that allow students to be successful, help from teachers and counselors. Statistics show that the school has been improving.…
That year, during the "free" period during the start of each day we were assigned to the same classes. We'd sit in our science teacher's room and learn about upcycling, or the gym and opt out of dodge ball to talk about bands or how I thought you looked like Leonard Nimoy for some reason. We'd even speculated that Spock was your dad. You got me into new music, tv shows, books, movies. You encouraged my writing, even though it was bad, you'd even done the whole banana bat thing. The last day of school we'd even had a fake sword fight with our yearbooks out of sight from everyone else.…
During the year of 2010, the summer before eighth grade year. I got the chance to participate in a five day youth mission trip in Galveston Texas with my church that went by the name of Oakwood Baptist Church. During the mission trip there would be many different activities that our church group would get to be a part of, such as an outdoor dodge ball tournament, indoor carnivals, and our very own Vacation Bible School. I was able to take part in this amazing adventure, and I couldn’t wait for it to begin.…
Once I was done with breakfast I met up with my friends up on the fourth floor. Once we got up there a counselor walked us over to the OAP. When we got there we figured out we were going canoeing. We loaded up the canoes and then we headed to the sturgeon river. Once we got there we unloaded the canoes and then we got in partners of two. My canoeing partner was Joe. We got started and then everyone was splashing each other. Joe and I kept splashing Robby and Khauldon but after a while, our teachers told us to stop. The canoeing became a race after a while I made it up to second place. We ended up finishing in second place at the end. We got done and loaded up the canoes and headed back. When we got back we unloaded the canoes and then headed back to campus. That night I hung with Nick and Jack in Jack’s room. After we were up there for a while we decided to go down and play pool. Then we went upstairs and went to…
During the summer before my sophomore year in high school my father had to relocate to Chicago for one year that gave us an opportunity to live there. We moved in August into a northern section of the city, Lincoln Park. Moving to Chicago was an exciting opportunity to live in a big city. Since I never lived in a big city, I was not really sure what to expect. The school where my brother and I were enrolled is Jones College Prep. In comparison to Lincoln Park, a residential area in the north section of Chicago, Jones College Prep was in the South Loop, a very busy downtown area of the City. Instead of mom driving us to school every day, we hopped on the Redline L-train and for 23 minutes each way travelled above and…
Once everyone was seated in the airplane and ready to takeoff, the flight attendant starts giving the safety procedures, Knowing how immature us high school graduates are, we started to scream and disturb everyone in the flight. After five minutes non-stop of…
On our third until sixth year in Egypt,my siblings and I went to school by bus .It was also the most exiting experience . The bus was cramped with students ; all like sardines in a tin .Vis was transported back into time when the pharoahs of Egypt ruled the land .The pyramids were enormous and…
