Carnival Cruise Line has a history of passengers falling off or jumping off their ships, about 30 incidents a year are reported. Some of those passengers have unfortunately passed away because of this. If Carnival Cruise Line knows this, then why don’t they go above and beyond for their own guest’s safety? They should have had more cameras, more detectors, and more employees that care enough about the passengers to not let them get so intoxicated.…

Rotavirus is the leading cause of diarrhea among infants and small children. It is the severe inflammation of the stomach and intestines and it is highly contagious; it can be spread easily through contact. Once the rotavirus enters your body, the first, second, and third line of defense kicks in and starts to defend your body from the foreign substance. The first line of defense includes the skin, cilia, tears, stomach and mucous membranes. Because the rotavirus is contagious, you will most likely obtain it when you touch the doorknob which means your hand will be the first to try and prevent the pathogen from further entering your body. There are three key issues that Spree Cruise Lines are being faced with. One, they were accused of damage to the port that they went out of on (DATE). The problem here is that the engine and prop may have not been properly fixed or maintained from the last voyage. The second issue is the actual damage to the 2nd prop and what that will do to the cruise ship itself and the itinerary that it has. The third issue deals with the occupants/passengers and their experience with the cruise line. Verbiage has already been spread of the issues on board and the management has to take the right course of action to both ensure the safety of the passengers and their feelings about the cruise line.…

Cruises are thought to be big and fancy, with fabulous meals and decorations, a wide range of people all looking to see gorgeous tropical islands and have a wonderful staff to accompany them all on their journey. Although in Oates’ story it is the complete opposite. Oates reveals to us that it is a rundown ship destined for the dry docks, with rooms that are falsely depicted in the brochures. The Ariel is one disaster after another with its toilets that malfunction or those that are out of order all together, or the loud throbbing of the engine that keeps everyone awake at night. The rude service, improperly cooked meals along with the high prices on beverages and cigarettes add to the disaster that is the Ariel. As the captain states “the reported sightings of rodents, cockroaches, and other vermin on board the ship…” (Oates 374) slow just how poorly it was taken care of. The Ariel is far from being a typical cruise…
