“Nora Roberts is probably the most successful novelist you've never heard of” (Cadwalladr).With over millions of copies being sold today, Nora Roberts continues to create success through her love for books. Eleanor Marie Roberts better known as Nora Roberts is a popular romantic novelist born on October 10, 1950 in Silver Spring, Maryland. Roberts is the youngest of five children. Eleanor and Bernard E. Robertson are Nora Roberts parents, and of Irish descent. Roberts attended. After graduating high school, Roberts married her first husband Ronald Aufdem Brinke in 1968 but later divorced in 1983. After marriage Roberts spent most of her time doing crafts with her sons in which she refers to as her “Earth Mother Years”. Roberts is the mother …show more content…
Two years later, she produced her first novel called Irish Thoroughbred. Within the next years, Roberts developed more success and created 23 more novels. She catched the public eyes attention with a novel called Playing the Odds in 1985 in which she initiated a great amount of recognition among romance readers.
As a successful Author, Nora Roberts has received many awards during her career. “In 1999 and 2000 Nora was the author of four of the five best selling romantic novels listed by USA Today” (Research Omics). Roberts’s romantic novels have been widely known by those who enjoy reading. ”When she's not writing traditional romance novels, she writes futuristic romantic suspense under the pen name J.D. Robb, which allows her to branch out into even more areas of creativity” (New Approaches).
Today, Roberts is 65 years old. She currently resides at the same house she moved into as newlywed teenager. Robert’s success keeps rising with an estimated amount of 60 million a year. “So far she has written 209 novels with over 400 million copies in print worldwide” (Nora Roberts).
