Nonprofit Art Organization Case Study
Section One:
Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, VLA, is a nonprofit based in New York City. The mission of this organization is to provide pro bono legal representation and education for low-income artists and nonprofit art organizations. VLA represent a variety of disciplines including animation, music, acting, visual arts, etc. As well as Artists Over Sixty, a program designed to help older artists set their wills and determine what will become of their artworks.

Section Two:
When emailing Kathryn E. Wagner, fundraising organizer, she stated the importance donations have towards the nonprofit. Donations “guarantee the continuations of our services in the arts community.” In the past year over 11,000 artists contacted VLA for their legal services.
