No Old People
Modest Proposal
Many people can agree with me when I say that we use a lot of our money on old people. Us Americans work hard for that money and we are just giving it up to help support the elders across the nation through Social Security and Medicare. What do we get in return for this noble act? Nothing, we get to watch the old people soak up our money and not give us anything back. So, I created a simple solution to this problem. Once a person hits the age of 62, we just end their life and see them no more. That would end the complaining of young Americans who do not want to give their hard earned money to a bunch of old sacs who sit around and do nothing. Plus it would help the flow of the money and create a better economy.
The average age for retirement is the age of 62, so usually when you turn this age you are done working and just sitting at your house for the rest of your life. This age signifies the moment of laziness and greed for most people. All of the old people are just going to want to receive their checks in the mail to help them get through the rest of their life without doing anything except for sitting in their rocking chairs and working on their gardens. We cannot let this continue and create a bad image for our future Americans. We need to show them that one cannot just lazily sit around and still receive money. We have to make a point that we will never stop working and once you do, it is over with you.
Killing a mass amount of old people would not be an enjoyable thing to do, but it would be necessary. I am not saying that we should kill them in terrible ways. I believe that a simple poison addition to their pudding will do the job. It would be quick and painless, plus there would be no mess to clean up. After they have passed we could dig a giant hole to bury all of the bodies in so we do not run out of space for the younger people. There would be a proper burial ceremony because we do not want to be inhuman about this act and everything

In this world we live in today, the economy has taken a huge down turn due to major banks making their own share of poor investments. With this down turn in the global economy, many people had their Saving Accounts, 401Ks, and Pensions nearly wiped out. All these may be different types of investments we use to help pay for retirement, but they are essential to being able to retire at an early enough age. Otherwise a person would only have to look forward to working during their own golden years instead of taking it easy.…

Many older people continue working in various ways well past when most others retire. And if you can think of an example of someone who can't, then you have meet 1 but I assure you that there are millions out there that can. Personally I really admire them. I have seen people on their 70 still working, doing their groceries, driving, cooking, going to the gym, running errands, taking care of their house, in general living a great active life like any other person does. Here in Austin we do have tons of examples of this. For us to be witnesses all we have to do is to visit our farmers markets, parks and local events to see old this older people full of life and energy. I am a true believer in the reason for younger people to have this misconception of our elders is due to the social disconnection that we have today. In today’s world not many people take time to be with our elderly. Maybe if we spend more time with them we will notice that they are not helpless just because of their age. They just learned to think differently than we do and to do their thing differently than how we do…

As a 74-year-old retired teacher in San Pablo of California, Roberta Tim Quan said that during their working years, she and her husband saved money and paid tax, but their retirement planning of travel and family visits cannot come true. As Quan recounted to a congressional hearing last fall, her husband needed expensive medical care for Alzheimer's disease. Utility and food bills were on the rise, as well. She cannot afford their retirement plans anymore (Billitteri 2008). In the U.S., for retirees their situations after retirement are not as good as thirty years ago. During a long period of working, workers paid their responsibility into social security account; however, after retirement, they cannot afford to live. That is not fair. Social security has supported retirees, widows and disabled individuals with a trust income for almost seventy years. However, the social security system's pay-as-you-go funding will be overwhelmed by the retirement of millions of baby-boom workers in the next fifteen years. Recently, a lot of people argue that social security should be privatized, and people can get money from that account after retirement.…

There are some vehicle commercials that show the parents are active and bike riding and road trips while the child is home wondering about their parents. More seniors are looking for side jobs after retirement. They often work part time so employers do not have to pay benefits, and they are at a lower rate- for being part time. Wal-Mart has really taken to hiring seniors as greeters at the front. Currently in the news is a big concern about the health care plan for the seniors. Along with the health care plan, there are also concerns about social security money being paid out and if the younger generation will have any when they are older. The government wants to protect…

With the changes in these programs though it always for people to take advantage of the system. Certain people feel the idea of working is not worth the value of sitting home living off this system. Not everyone does this on assistance but for the few that do it means not paying taxes into SSI. “Today 12 percent of the total population is aged 65 or older, but by 2080, it will be 23 percent. At the same time, the working-age population is shrinking from 60 percent today to a projected 54 percent in 2080. Consequently, the Social Security system is experiencing a declining worker-to-beneficiary ratio, which will fall from 3.3 in 2005 to 2.1 in 2040 (the year in which the Social Security trust fund is projected to be exhausted). (SSA)” The current worker ratio to retirees continues to drop which allows for not enough to be paid in and too much to be took out. Another factor contributing to this is the fact of a shrinking economy. People that once worked but, got laid off no longer contribute to SSI with a paycheck…

During the last couple years of their careers before retiring, people usually enjoy salaries and bonuses that are larger than at any other point in their career. As a result, money is rarely a major concern. However, many people fail to save that money. Instead, they spend it on vacations, their families and in the pursuit of living fun lives. This can lead to a rude awakening when they retire. Because they have not saved much money during their career, a lot of people discover that they do not have enough money to live comfortably during their retirement years. When they retire, they no longer earn a salary. They no longer receive bonus checks. Instead, they are forced to live off the income that can be generated by the investments they have made throughout their lives. Unfortunately, many have not invested any money that can generate this income. Other Baby Boomer issues complicate this money problem. People live longer lives today. When a Baby Boomer retires, he can expect to live many years in retirement. In the past, a 65-year old man could expect to live 10 years in retirement before passing away. The financial requirements of living comfortably for these 10 years were manageable. Today, people use a life expectancy of 90 to 95 years. That is, when a person retires at 65 years of age, he can expect to live up to 30 years in retirement. With dwindling health, rising health care…

Government agencies are pushing the retirement age out to 67 due to baby boomers reaching maturity age. (Ryan, n.d.) The aging population is no longer dying out between their late 50 and early 60 they are living well beyond the anticipated lifespan. Many aging adults that have been let go in their active employment find it difficult to find work as they may not have the skills sets or ability of many of the younger adults. Some human service professionals reach roadblocks while trying to find liable agencies to provide services for our aging adults. In many states, county or city agencies funding has been depleted. Organizations are increasing limits on funding to aid in utility food or secure adequate amounts of medication. With the cost of living increasingly on the rise and minimum wages decreasing, it has become unbearable for seniors to maintain affordable living on fixed incomes that range from $10,000 to $15,000 a year. (CBs morning news) Many of our aging population have issues dealing with matters of acute physical or mental health problems. (Hudson) Another falling factor is that many aging adults have used savings and or retirement to care for family. Adults! Who really needs them? I mean seriously, they are way over populated. Besides they are dumb, they don't know anything! A great proposal has come to my attention. Why not, perhaps, throw out all the adults from any sort of power. They will be below us. They won't be our parents, they won't be able to tell us what to do in our home or even in work. We shall take over all of their work, property, vehicles, money, finances, and of course, seniority.…

Economically this will save us money. I did some calculations, if you figure there are 400,000 people in jail and at least one fourth of those men or women are on death row. Then figure it costs about $200 a day to keep them there including food, clothes, health and utilities. This will cost $20,000,000 a day and an amazing $7,300,000,000 a year to keep these men and women in prison. Where as if it cost about $50 to execute them or send them to a company to use it would cost about $5,000,000 a year and a difference of $7,295,000,000 a year. This money could be used by the poor and by our schools, which severally need help. When the people are executed we could sell their bodies to anyone who has the refined taste for such a delicacy. Thus adding another meal to our palate, this could be our new apple pie! I think this is a great plan but if you don’t please remember that I a just a patriotic man who wanted to help out his country.…
