I believe that this film was a good film because I learned from it, the film was accurate and matched what we learned in class, and the movie itself was very captivating and interesting to watch. Watching the film in class led me to better understand the hostage crisis which took place in Tehran Iran. Although the movie was not shot in Iran they did a very good job of making it seem like it was, they also did a good job of including the Iranian culture in the film which helped me understand the crisis more. My comprehension of the American hostage crisis was minimal before the film. I did not understand how the six people got away from the other americans who were being kidnapped, I also did not understand how they had gotten away safely. …show more content…
I was skeptical at first when the movie displayed a risky and fairly unrealistic escape plan; but later I learned that the escape plan that was demonstrated in the movie is in fact how the Americans got out of Iran. And also the accuracy of how and where the Americans were living in the meantime was also displayed in the film. I think that the plan the was developed by CIA member Tony Mendez was what made the film so exciting and crazy because I didn’t think that creating a fake movie and bringing it to Iran to film would actually work. It all seemed way too risky considering that Tony was an American who was going into Iran during a time period in which the Iranians hated the United States enough to kidnap Americans and kill whoever they wanted without probable cause. This is probably what got me on the edge of my seat during the whole film because the viewer could never predict what would happen next. The movie Argo was very well written, directed and had very good acting, I would recommend it because unlike some other history movies it is in no way boring and wasn’t slow paced. I think anyone would enjoy this film but due to mild violence and some scenes with inappropriate language I would suggest that those under 12 should hold off on watching. The plot and climax of the film were very good and I loved how intense the ending was when the Iranians were chasing after the plane that the Americans were on, I did not know if they would make it out alive because it was very

In 1979, the American embassy in Iran was invaded by Iranian revolutionaries and several Americans were taken hostage. However, six managed to escape to the official residence of the Canadian Ambassador and the CIA was eventually ordered to get them out of the country. With few options, exfiltration expert Tony Mendez devised a daring plan: to create a phony Canadian film project looking to shoot in Iran and smuggle the Americans out as its production crew. With the help of some trusted Hollywood contacts, Mendez created the ruse and proceed to Iran as its associate producer. However, time was running out with the Iranian security forces closing in on the truth while both his charges and the White House had grave doubts about the operation themselves. I really enjoyed the movie. This is considered to be a classic film and it definitely holds to that. The fact that it is educational is also a reason why I enjoyed this movie. You really learn a lot about drugs in the 80s from this movie. I thought that it went very well with our theme this week in class. We learned a lot about deviant behavior. The question for our discussion was about our environment and if we knew anyone who participated in deviant behavior. I think every young black youth from an urban environment knows a Nino Brown. I would recommend this movie to anyone involved in criminal justice.…

Many elements made this an entertaining film. For instance, the visual elements such as the battlefield’s special effects. Also the romance, the faith, the hope, the honor, and the triumph made this a captivating film. This film had a lot of criticism, but people need to face the fact that this is not a historical documentary, and that it is just entertainment. Yes the film’s setting is in the past, yes the film is about the Revolutionary War, and yes it deals with history, but that does not automatically make it a documentary. I would definitely recommend this to another student.…

In my opinion, I though the film was powerful and overwhelming at times. As, the public figures and political activists gave a lot of information. I identified really well with the main character, Chris Kyle, as I watched the movie. What really hit home was how much he missed his family and the way of life back in the United States. After seeing the move it has made me appreciate the many sacrifices that our men and service women make to keep our country safe. This movie does a great job of putting that into perspective and sharing with us the hardships of true warfare. This movie was definitely a rewarding experience for me. It opened my eyes to how warfare really is. Plus it briefly touched on the death of Chris Kyle. It gave me more information on his murder and that his killer was struggling with a severe case of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.…

He took you into the behind the scenes of the White House after September 11, 2001. He showed you what kind of pressure was on not only the president and White House, but also all of the related institutions including the CIA. The biggest threat to America was Iraq and Suddam Hussein. As America eagerly waited a rebuttal or response from Bush and company, the president came up with a game plan. That game plan set the pitch for the rest of the movie. In justifying taking action against Hussein and Iraq, Bush addresses the State of the Union in 2003 alluding to Uranium’s use in building weapons of mass destruction. Was this true? This is only up to ones opinion at this…

The movie was so interesting because I got to see the different ways Americans do to help save the Earth. Before we watched the movie, I didn't know that there were so many Americans doing their part. The top 3 things that attracted me most during the movie were: The Rooftop of the city hall of Illinois, the Bikes and the City Museum. To see a rooftop greenery in the middle of place filled with buildings and different infrastructures was a beautiful sight to see. It's like the beautiful scenery is calling you, saying " Hey! Rather than staring at me from faraway, make a greenery on your…

It showed me how our education system worked and how it is controlled. I would also recommend it to someone that is wanting to be a teacher in the near future. This movie will show them the other side of education. The side were teachers are blamed for student success rates and how hard it is to become a good teacher. I feel like teachers have a good concept on why they want to become a teacher but they don’t really know what it takes. If this movie can open my eyes to our educational world then I am sure it can do the same to anyone that watches…

Argo did not win the Oscar for the best movie just because people liked it. Argo is a movie directed and produced by Ben Affleck, in the movie Ben Affleck also plays the role of a main character along with Bryan Cranston, Alan Arkin, and John Goodman. The movie plays during the time Iran’s Revolution. The movie based itself on 6 Americans that work in the US embassy in Tehran and when the Iranian protesters break into it they manage to escape and take shelter in the Canadian ambassadors house. The CIA decides to collaborate with Hollywood and created a fake movie called Argo and the plan they had consisted in giving the 6 Americans fake passports, visas and take them out of the country like if they where crew from the movie. I really enjoyed Argo but the things I like the more will be the acting, the set design and the movie plot.…
