Every wise man or woman to walk on the face of this Earth has known that there is a balance in the universe. For every good, there is an evil; for every virtue, a vice. For every dollar earned, there is a dollar spent, and for every moment spent working, the reward for that work becomes all the greater. However, if you are like me, you: a) believe that you must have done something terrible in a past life to have had to endure a punishment as brutal as George W. Bush's presidency and b) have fallen into the most basic trap of humanity, thinking that there must be a shortcut to success, at least in high school. So, if your thirst for high achievement is matched in strength only by your allergy to textbooks, join me as we attempt to break the rules of science and logic by trying to ace tests while becoming kings and queens of not studying.…

There are approximately 7 billion people that inhabit this Earth. With there being as many people as there are, there are millions of views that each individual has. Some may believe that aliens exist, and others may even believe that the moon is made out of cheese. Regardless of what somebody believes, they usually have their reasons. A discussion that is very controversial is the debate for the existence of God. People that believe in the Judeo-Christian God have different reasons for why they believe in God. Conversely, Atheists also have their own take on why God does not exist, as well. A popular argument is known as the Design Argument. In this paper, the Design Argument will be discussed and analyzed.…

“With such signs of forethought in the design of living creature, can you doubt they are the work of choice or design?” (Socrates). The word ‘Telos’ is Greek for purpose. The Teleological argument thus argues that the universe is being directed towards a telos, an end purpose, and the posteriori evidence of an apparent intelligent design in the world. A posteriori argument is based on observations and/or experiences. Furthermore, the teleological argument is based on the character of the world and the universe. For example, our world is a place of such extraordinary interlocking complexity that the only rational explanation is the presence of an intelligent designer. There are two main arguments within the design argument; the first is an…

Developing and maturing is the process I have been going through in college this semester. Each essay talks about how I had to adapt or mature to become a successful person in a new environment. The reason why I talk about maturing is because being so far from home, you must depend on yourself. Nobody is here to help me out for example nobody to wake me up or make me food. I must be on top of my responsibilities, which means I must grow up and take ownership of whatever task I am handed. On top of it all, soccer challenged me as well as being in a new environment. It takes a lot of maturity to stay on top of your grades and play a sport at the same time. It took a lot of time management to become successful in college. Being able to manage…
