You get rid of the stains on your teeth by yourself

This is false. Unless you are a dentist, you're not going to be able to get rid of stains by yourself. There are kinds of products you can buy at the grocery store to get rid of stains, but they don't really work. They are all sales gimmicks.

Talk to your dentist about the stains on your teeth and how to remove them. Your dentist is someone you can trust, so he or she is the first person you should talk to about this.

5. It's okay to frequently whiten your teeth

You should not whiten your teeth too often. This will be bad for them and will make them more sensitive than they already are. Stick to whitening once or twice a year, and that's it. That's probably about all your teeth can take, and that's completely fine. Whitening isn't really a natural thing, and it's important to keep that in mind.

6. Whitening gum really works

Whitening gum is just another sales gimmick. It's not going to whiten your teeth like professional whitening can. Don't rely solely on whitening gum to get you the results you need.

7. You can whiten your own teeth with baking soda

This is a complete myth. Baking soda will not whiten your teeth and using it will only disrupt the ratio of good to bad bacteria in your mouth. Other 'natural' ideas like this one will only do the same
