Within the time the girls were given to audition again they prepared to sing the song “Impossible” by Shontelle.…

Formed as an outlet to their beliefs and the beliefs of others, Pussy Riot protested in scandalous matters using tactics such as provocative language and performing in certain places, like the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, where it would be their last performance. Although Pussy Riot broke the law to protest, they should not have been punished as harshly as they did for voicing their opinion against Russia’s government as there were people who had protested before and did not have to serve as much time as them. They were put in strict and intolerable conditions while the unfair trial occurred which later resulted in a long jail sentence for their protest against Russia’s President, Vladimir Putin.…
The music industry is one of the most lucrative forms of entertainment today. Music is the one thing that is universal, it overrides any language, and is accessible to everyone all over the world. Pop, Rap, Hip-Hop, Classical, any genre can bring a whole range of emotions to any individual, music is powerful. It is when people start to mess with the message and idea of music for a quick buck, does a problem arise. The greedy have taken advantage of a market, that can not fight back, and does not know any better, children. One music company has used the youth of today to rip-off, and ruin some of music’s current radio hits, and they still have power because they advertise to children, so that they beg their parents to buy these albums for them. That company is Kidz Bop. Kidz Bop’s covers of songs are redundant to the original artist’s version of the songs.…
Backstreet Boys In a world full of imitations, the Backstreet Boys are definitely not just another fabricated, bubblegum-pop boy-band, but are a multi-talented group of real musicians. With each Backstreet Boy having his own unique experiences in such areas as: acting, singing, modeling, and playing instruments, it is obvious that it would add flavor to their phenomenal voices, and lead them to fame and fortune. "Honestly, looking at them for the first time with their country, down to earth, all American boy image, I thought they were out of their heads. Eventually, their vocal abilities and their passion for music changed my mind," stated their former manager, Johnny Wright on VH1 Music Television. Although it may seem as if success was easily handed over to them, these five regular guys from Orlando, Florida experienced many struggles on their bumpy road to the top.…
My subject of choice is on my favorite band called Blink-182. I chose this artist because of the impact they had on my life as a teenager. Lets start off on who the band is and what they do. Blink-182 is a pop-punk band that was formed in 1992 and still plays music today; their members are Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Travis Barker. When they formed in 1992 they sang songs of what life’s like as a teenager and the ordeals that teens go through. Their song “What’s my age again?” is about how getting older changes what your life’s like and what you can get away with, and there song “All The Small Things” was the depiction of love and not wanting to leave the one you love. One of the biggest impacts that Blink-182 had on me was in 2011 when one of my good friends, named Spencer committed…

Concert Report Dear Beatrice, How have you been? Hope everything is will with you and your family. You and I haven’t had much time to speak these past few weeks, so I decided to write you this letter in order to update you on the current events that have occurred in my life recently. Two days ago, I attended a baroque sinfonia at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, directed by Adam Gilbert, director of the early music program. The program consisted of selections from The Fairy Queen, originally composed by Henry Purcell. The overall performing environment was quite outstanding. It was great that the performers were on an elevated stage, making it much easier to see and hear them. It’s always crucial to be able to make eye contact with the performers in order to establish a personal connection with them. The event was very well attended. All the seats were practically filled causing some of the audience to stand up because there was no room. Overall, the audience seemed to be educated and had a great deal of knowledge on the music that was being performed. Also, the musical program was well organized, being consisted of five acts. The program passed out to the audience consisted a libretto, a text of all the words and stage directions of a piece, which made it much more easier to understand what was occurring on stage at the moment. The instruments I encountered at this concert were the violin, viola, cello, violone, harpsichord, lute, theorbo, guitar, oboe, bassoon, trumpet and recorder. Fortunately, I had learned about most of these instruments and what they sound like in my music class, so I was able to identify which instrument was being played at a certain time.…
