Night Reflection Essay

As soon as my eighth grade English teacher told me the reading assignment for school this year, I knew I wanted to read “Night” by Elie Wiesel. Night is a narrative all about his experiences during World War II and the Holocaust while he was stuck inside of a concentration camp. Eliezer was just a young man when the Nazis invaded Germany and took them from their homes. He explains the stories of him and his father's experiences in the concentration camps. I think it is extremely amazing and impressive that Eliezer survived in the concentration camp. That is the main reason I decided to read this book. Eliezer went through so much, and his life changed so drastically in such a short period of time. He lost his entire family, went through extreme malnourishment, and was treated inhumanely by the Nazis. Although all this, he tried his best to keep his spirits up and be positive.

Throughout the book I decided to track this symbol of corpses. This was important to the book because it showed that the reoccurrence of death was an important theme in the book. In the book I found that corpses did not just signify actual death, it also signified spiritual death. After the

Our society has grown up under the impression that we aren't good enough, we're not strong enough, or we're not fast enough. So ever since I've heard that, I have pushed harder than I thought was possible, pushed past the limit. However at the same time it also personally impacts me because in the concentration camps they had to persevere, a lot. And I can relate a lot to perseverance because I have grown up swimming and the hard practices take a lot of perseverance. “Night” by Elie Wiesel teaches us all to persevere through the hard times and push ourselves past the limit.
