Nick's Father To His Father Rhetorical Analysis

I found this phrase that Nick said interesting; “Here, for the first time in my life, I’m jonathans son.” (Pg.163) Nick said this line when he meets his father’s friends, which are his girlfriend’s parents. At first, it didn’t quite hit me what Flynn met by this but after thinking about it for a bit I realized he said that because for all of his childhood and the beginning of his adulthood, he never acknowledged himself to his Dad or even referenced himself to his Dad.
