NFL Quarterback’s That Succeed Or Do Not

The difference between two NFL quarterback’s varies based on skill level and how much they want to succeed in the league. Not all Quarterbacks in the league will be hall of famers, and some of these players come into the league and will have to improve on their talents. Great quarterbacks ranging from Tom Brady and Drew Brees had to prove they were worth a starting job. For example, Tom Brady was a 6th round draft pick and was a backup behind another QB. He went down and Tom entered the game to prove his worthiness for a football team; and the rest is history. This leads up to an NFL quarterback, by the name of Mark Sanchez. This quarterback had the glory and praise during his college career unlike Brady. However, Sanchez was not able to capitalize on that in once entering the league, because as a quarterback his mechanics and decision making proved he was not that much of a great player as stated in his college days. College skills compared to NFL skills does not always mean the football player will succeed in the ruthless league off the NFL.

Rookie quarterback’s will make mistakes; however, in the case of Mark Sanchez, not for three or more years and still not show any improvement at all since entering the league. Sanchez only showed somewhat of an improvement by implementing a few check downs before throwing the ball. Therefore, this helped cut back on his turnovers just a tad. He has shown that his skills are not great enough for the NFL level, and goes on to prove that college achievements does not always mean a successful career in the league. Once playing, Brady capitalized on the opportunity he was given and played much better and made fewer mistakes as the 1st round draft pick Mark Sanchez. Brady’s career in the first year greatly outshines Sanchez,

Every year quarterbacks come in from the NFL draft, and these rookies are predicted to step in and take over an NFL franchise that has or has been the pity of the NFL. These rookie quarterbacks step in as rookies and are expected to except the leadership role and turn those teams into playoff and Super bowl contenders. Many rookies try to step up and accept that role and fail. Mostly due to immaturity, but it also comes from not being able to handle the hype and the pressure of that role. As most rookies fail, some grab the role in both hands and become exactly what is expected of them. Recent rookies that have stepped up and accepted those roles are Cam Newton, of the Carolina Panthers, and Robert Griffin III, of the Washington Redskins. The two players had the most hype of their drafting classes hands down. Cam Newton was drafted by the Panthers in the 2011 draft, and Robert Griffin III was drafted by the Redskins in the 2012 draft.…

Even though one could be athletic enough to play the sport, if they have no background on reading a defense or an offense, then they will indeed fail because of the complexity of the game. The most successful players in the game are the players who take care of their bodies, work hard at practice, and watch game film. These are all equally important and one cannot compete on a high level without the other, this is what is so interesting to me; sports aren’t just about athletics, there is so much more that goes on behind the scenes. In order to play professional football or even any professional sports for that matter you need to be smart and know what you are doing at all…
