There is no absolute way to prevent a concussion but the National Football League is making new rules and training their referees in ways to help prevent a concussion in their players. “The league donated $1 million to Boston University's Center for the Study of Traumatic Encephalopathy research into the long-term effects of repetitive brain trauma in athletes, particularly in football players. The NFL was the first sports league to financially support that research at the school,” (Farmer par. 26). They are funding money to research facilities and researchers to help find a better way to prevent or reduce the causes and effects of concussions.
