Newark Panthers Research Paper
The Newark Panthers In 1956 the Newark Panthers were established in NFL the first draft pick of the Newark Panthers was Luke Williams quarterback (QB) out of Clemson. After that they got a wide receiver (WR), a linebacker (LB) and some other positions. The Newark Panthers were always the underdogs and this is about the time they won the Super Bowl. They always had good players but, they could never work together “bad chemistry”. Luke WIlliams was a superstar at quarterback he always threw dots (a good throw) however, the defense on the other team always intercepted the football. So mainly Luke Williams just ran the football or handed it off to their running back (RB) Marshall Faulk.

They were projected to lose in the first round because they were playing the Pittsburgh Steelers. In the first quarter the Steelers were scoring touchdown after touchdown because the defense kept getting a 3 and out. When it was the second quarter Luke WIlliams got the ball and drove the Newark Panthers to the 5 on Steelers side but then the Steelers intercepted the ball and ran it down to score a touchdown making it 42-0 Steelers at the half.

When the Newark Panthers were in the locker room Luke Williams gave a speech saying “that we came here to defy all odds to show that we are worthy to win the super bowl and that we are no ordinary team but we are an extraordinary team that has the potential to win it all people will remember this year because of our comeback to win it all, starts now!” The whole entire team went insane and it didn’t even feel like they were losing.

The Newark Panthers came out like they were winning 45-0. In the third quarter the Panthers got down to business. Luke Williams turned their offense into a machine the Steelers couldn’t stop them. It was touchdown after touchdown after touchdown. Everyone getting better then the

This article was very interesting. It really applies to my honors essay and was a great in-depth desciption into Football at Carlisle. During football documentaries, the early portion of football history always talks in great detail about the successes of Harvard and Yale, accounting their great rivalry and historical relevance. This article takes a different perspective focusing on the successes of the Carlisle football team. The article states, “By 1907, the Carlisle Indians were the most dynamic team in college football.” I found this quote to put in perspective the impact of football at Carlisle. The next sentence states that Carlisle started to incorporate the forward pass, the overhand spiral, and multiple trick plays. All to those aspects…

The Super Bowl is considered the game of the year for many Americans. The Bears have appeared in two Super Bowls, victorious in 1985 and defeated in 2006(NFL). This demonstrates that this team has the potential to reach the Super Bowl soon. In addition, a division title is the best award a team can earn from its own division, and the Bears have earned them, three times in the past decade. “NFC North Division Championships: 2005, 2006, 2010”(NFL). This portrays that the Bears are capable of winning in the playoffs. In other words, the Bears are the most stupendous National Football League team because of the number of Super Bowls they have won and because of the division titles they have won.…

It started with drafting a player named Joe Greene and hiring coach Chuck Noll. After three years of Noll drafting players, the Steelers became a good team. In a few years, they went from going 1-13 in 1969 to 11-3 in ‘72. The Steelers have been a pretty good team ever since…

"Super Sunday" is able to attract greater audiences to the annual event than any other television event, but how? Are the teams matching up better? Are the games becoming more competitive? I feel the enormous number of viewers each year has nothing to do with the game. The NFL has incorporated many other aspects to the championship night, including pre-game entertainment, National Anthem renditions, glamorous half-time shows, and hilarious commercials, which all have helped the Super Bowl appeal to a broader group of viewers. Because of this broader group of viewers, the event has turned into one of the biggest social events of the year. Many people watch the game with a group of friends or at a party, and many people place money wages on the game. The NFL being able to appeal to a broader group of vastly unique viewers is the ultimate reason why, in my mind, the Super Bowl has become such a popular culture icon.…
