New York University Personal Statement

I began high school with the mentality of following a biomedical engineering track through college, although I was unaware of what the engineering field entailed. I realized engineering failed to strike a chord as I could not see myself being passionate about the career. Fortunately, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and apply to a program at the Kelley School of Business. What started as a curious interest in business soon resulted in a fresh outlook of the range of careers that would allow me to make an impact if I pursued it through the business track at New York University. I am interested in studying Business and Political Economy at NYU’s Stern School of Business to further my knowledge on the worldwide impact this field has with the trade of ideas by bringing countries together. I witnessed the melding of cultures by living in three different countries and that is evident in no better place than New York City itself. When I toured NYU, I loved the approach to a global education based on learning from one another. This environment motivates me to keep an open mind and see the world in a new perspective. I was impressed by the variety of opportunities that are offered to students to explore the big city and expand their knowledge in areas outside of the classroom. For example, I would
