On November 1, 2011, the Human Resource (HR) Department provided training to the each of the division managers regarding a change to the employee work shift schedule to begin on January 1, 2012. This change was a direct result of the company’s increase in growth and production demand. Following the meeting, each division manager scheduled a date and time that week for their employees to receive comparable training from the HR Department. The HR personnel also relayed to the employees that the change in work shift schedule was a necessary response to the company’s increase in growth and production demand. Employees were given the same opportunity as the division managers to ask questions, receive feedback, and allow the employee time to approach their department manager with any concerns as noted in company policy and procedure. Following the meetings, both employees and division managers signed an acknowledgement of the training which was then placed in their personnel file.…

Kim, Harrington, & Greene (2009), refer to staffing pattern as the proper number of staff designated to each function or responsibility within a group for each shift and per day. This pattern will permit me to assign nurses based on a careful analysis of availability and patients’ needs and the 1:1 ratio for supportive nurses and nurses is quite appropriate for the management engineering model because clients with diverse magnitude of care will easily be provided a distinct or exclusive healthcare services. However, the number of patients in the hospital also influences how the management engineering model functions because an increase in the number of…

Bi) In the terms and conditions, it describes a few things. Here are only a few. The first being the hours of work and how it will be worked. I am full time and therefore will be working 37 ½ hours a week. This is done over 5 shifts (8-4, 8-130, 4-10, 4-10 sleep and awakes (once trained)). Any preferences are expressed before the agreement is made. The second, is pay per hour. This is determined by age and the employer. This is again discussed before the agreement. The third and final thing I am going to cover is annual leave. This is the amount of paid holiday you are legal entitled too. This is determined by the amount of hours you work a week. For example if your working full time you are entitled to 28 days paid annual leave. It is also discussed how much notice you have to give before taking annual leave (i.e. 3 weeks).…
