Regarding conflict resolution, refer to The Third Side: Why We Fight and How We Can Stop, how can you start?

When we think about how can I start the conflict resolution, we need to understand that how to prevent and avoid the conflicts. Every conflict has the source and origin, if we discover the conflict in the beginning of the conflict, we can prevent and avoid the further conflict easily. According to The Third Side, the author mentions that we should catch the conflict as early as passible before the conflict broadens. Therefore, we can clearly understand that we should be carefully observe that dose the organization have any source and origin to create conflicts, if so we should catch it and deal it immediately before the conflicts grow up. This is the best way to start on dealing and stopping the conflicts.

The book has outlined ten practical roles that Thirdsiders can play at home, at work, and in the larger community. What concrete steps can you take to start mobilizing the third side?

The book provides ten practical roles to start mobilizing the third side. The bridge builder is the way that I can take to start mobilizing the third side. According to the third side, good relationships are key to preventing conflict. Anyone can help build bridging relationships across natural divides. A relationship operates like savings in the bank; whenever an issue arises, the parties can dip into their account of goodwill to help deal with it. So, we can understand the bridge builder is the useful way to mobilize the third side for each party of the conflicts. Sometimes, the conflicts are difficult to solve, this is because there is no neutral bridge facilitates people to solve the conflicts between each party. Therefore, if someone builds the bridge to make the chances for creating communication, trust, and relationship, it will make the situation totally different positively. Debates are basically distributive bargaining situations where debaters utilize selective presentation to try and win their arguments. This paper will define what a distributive bargaining situation is and secondly, this written discourse will define the technique of selective presentation. Furthermore, this paper will also discuss the definition of power, and the role power plays in negotiation.
