Necessary Or Unconstitutional Or Avocational Archaeology?
Both institutional archaeologists and avocational archaeologists should have just gotten along before things got out of hand. Both of them had the same goal in mind, retrieve the artifacts. Avocational archaeologists were a big help in giving information to institutional archaeologists. There is probably more Avocational archaeologists then professional archaeologists because you do not need a degree to practice Avocational archaeology. Now that they have been pushed away both parties take a loss. They need to make terms once again so archaeology can have a greater influence. Since nothing really has been done to bring both parties together once again it will be hard to do it once more. Furthermore, avocational archaeologists are mostly seen

Today we use the Roman colosseum for our own entertainment. Weather it would be gladiators fighting, track and field events, boxing, or just wrestling. With all these events, do you ever think to yourself that all this killing is ethical? To me it is very ethical. The people we watch fight to the death volunteer themselves to fight. If they manage to win they become very wealthy and famous. Even if they do not volunteer to fight the gladiators are usually slaves wanting the right to become free and start a new life. The only way to earn this free life is to win battles against gladiators. To some people this might seem unethical. At first people might think we are the craziest people in the world, but after a while they realize that we do not force them to fight so it is ethical. Eventually they grow to love the fights. Besides gladiator fights people seem to love the sports that occur in the Roman colosseum. I think everyone can agree that a sport is ethical. Watching some of the best athletes from Rome is really amazing to watch. The younger kids really look up to them.…

    * The three goals of archaeology are the study of culture history, reconstruct past life ways, and understand cultural processes. The study of culture history is to piece together the history of how culture changes over time. To reconstruct past life ways is a complex process that involves a good deal of analysis which is to figure out as much you can about the people who lived at a particular site or civilization. To understand cultural processes entails trying to figure out how and why material culture has changed which happens in three ways invention (innovation), diffusion (spread), migration (moving to a different place). The earlier ways paradigms of archaeology apply and differ from the three goals of archaeology are the theoretical framework, assumptions, the explanations and causes, and point of view. There are currently two major paradigms in archaeology which are post-processual and processual archaeology paradigms, but the two paradigms spoken in class are antiquarianism and reconstruction. Antiquarianism is the old paradigm which archaeologists use to go after the expensive items. Reconstruction is the new paradigm which archaeologists consider every artifact as important in relation to everything else to solve the puzzle.…

Culture and values are standards that influence and shape human behaviors, decision making processes, personal relationships, and status of health and happiness. The United States has become a symbol of a multicultural society representing many different ethnicities and minority groups. As our culture continues to grow rapidly so is the necessity to increase awareness, understanding, and tolerance of these diverse groups. As health care providers we must understand the basic needs of our patients, whether they are black, white, green or purple, and the repercussions of prejudices and cultural insensitivities. Health care providers need to become responsive to the cultural values of different peoples and how these could augment effective and humanistic care delivery (Edelman, 2010).…

I have a difference of opinion with the article “Why Are So Few African-Americans Doing African-American Archaeology?” by Theresa A. Singleton. I feel the question she is asking is racist. I do not think it matters to any individual, me included, that certain races should be held at higher perspectives because it is part of their ethnicity that is being studied. She spoke about the development of “African-American archaeology that is informed by African-American perspectives.” In addition, continues to name ways in which it should be handled.…
