National Honor Society Examples
The National Honor Society is a group of students that exemplify the traits of leadership, character, citizenship, and intelligence. It is crucial that the future members of this organization exhibit these characteristics to the best of their abilities. For a great majority of my student life, I strived to perform these traits to my utmost capability, aiming to become an excellent example for my fellow peers. Throughout my high school career, I have been on the honor role for every quarter thus far. I feel deep pride and satisfaction in my grades and scholarly accomplishments, for they are a visual example of the hard work and large amount of effort I put into my studies. Although I not acquired any formal leadership positions, I exert my leadership abilities by example. In my classes, I often …show more content…
It is also important to treat each other as equals, preventing the idea of dominance or superiority to go to one's head, as everyone's contribution to a common goal should be appreciated. In addition, I try my best to round-out myself in pursuing other interests though extracurricular activities. I have been taking piano lessons for over 5 years; From this, I learned early on that one's determination and integrity are essential things to build and keep in order to accomplish set goals. Furthermore, I try my best to seek new ways to benefit our community. In my church, I often take the position of a needed altar server if more servers are necessary in order to carry out the mass. I have also created numerous congratulatory cards for new mothers in hospitals during my freshman year. These experiences I have had have changed the approach I have taken on in life, allowed me to gain new skills and perspectives, and - hopefully - given me the qualities needed in a National Honor Society

A member of such a society based on character, scholarship and leadership is one who can demonstrate these three tasks in their everyday lives. The ease of maintaining a balanced schedule whilst also upholding these characteristics may not be the simplest of tasks at times, even for the best students, although the drive to strive for this essence sets individuals apart from the majority. I believe that in my everyday life, I demonstrate these ideals and would heartily enjoy guiding others in them. To be exercise any of these qualities requires one’s own desire, a desire which I not only try to instill into myself, but into others as well. Being part of the National Honor Society would not only be an honor in and of itself, but an honor which is able to transcend its membership and let a person such as myself try to better the school, town, and familial communities by doing good in each of them.…

There are many accomplishments in my life of which I am proud, however there are two for which I am especially proud. National Junior Honor Society is a great opportunity for me; something that I am really excited to have. I would love to be involved in NJHS and share my ideas and listen to others ideas about fundraisers and collecting donations. I believe I have all the qualities to be apart of the NJHS. Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. I love helping and have participated in many charities. For example, every year for Easter and Christmas our family donates money, toys, and food to WGY Christmas Wish Charity and families in need. At Christmas we have gone around caroling to people in the Greenwich area. Being an applicant for the NJHS is an honor. I would love being considered for NJHS.…

I feel honored to achieve the National Junior Honor Society award, ever since I received the letter informing me about how I earned the award I was very excited. This award means a lot to me and I have set high goals all school year ever since hearing about it. Every day I come to school and set high goals for myself whether it’s to earn all A’s, learn something new, or get an award. I feel education is very important and so far all this school year I only have been absent once and I’ve never been late. However, I don’t think all the credit should go to me, if it weren't for my parents I wouldn’t have gotten myself to where I am today. Their belief in me to achieve greatness inspires me. Throughout my life, they also helped answer all my questions, and still do. All though it’s not just my parents who deserve the credit the amazing teachers who have taught me throughout my entire life deserve some credit too, without their amazing teaching skills I wouldn’t be earning this award today.…

Therefore, all pillars are important for students to follow, so that they may benefit the world and make a difference. The four pillars of the National Honor Society; scholarship, leadership, character, and service are the four qualities of a well-rounded individual. They have not only embodied who I strive to be, but have helped me achieve success and impact throughout my local community and my time as a national honor society member. Scholarship has helped me define not only who I am as a student, but has helped me prepare for my future. Without my drive to maintain my academics and pursue knowledge, I would not have discovered my love and passion for teaching. This newly discovered passion has helped me narrow down my future career, special education. Service, has helped me develop one of my individual characteristics, as I now understand the importance…

The four pillars of National Honors Society, scholarship, service, leadership, and character, have paved a path for me as a student and as a person. Scholarship has taught me to strive to be the best student I can be. I use scholarship to keep up with my school work and never give up when a class is hard. I always strive for the best grade I can get and I will stop at nothing until I reach my goal. I will continue to use scholarship as I go to college and pursue my dream as a pediatric dentist. I will study, I will learn, and I will never give up no matter what happens along the way. I use service when I volunteered to help my local private school. I was never asked to do so, but I felt as if I was giving back to a school that had done so much…

“The hardest obstacle to overcome in any leadership position is getting past the apathy to get people involved in the process to get things done…The greatest enemy to accomplishment is apathy” (Burke). National Honor Society upholds its members to have 4 important values. These being scholarship, character, leadership, and service. Leadership, in my opinion, is a very important aspect in National Honors Society because you are expected to be a role model by positively inspiring people around you. This quote stuck out because it says that inspiring people is a way to overcome obstacles in leadership. If you inspire people and make them get rid of their apathy, you can overcome stalling in the process and reach accomplishment.…

As quite the introvert, I never would have imagined myself as the secretary of such a renowned organization: the National Honor Society. However, I had decided to take on the challenge of running for board, requiring me to give a speech to our 500+ NHS members. My strengths did not lie in public speaking or persuasion like the other candidates. Instead, my speech involved me singing Mulan’s “Be a Man,” using ingenuity and humor to win over opinions. I believe that pushing yourself into an unfamiliar situation is the best way to learn and grow, as this approach demands problem solving and innovative thinking. NHS has pushed me to be more outgoing and active in the community by giving me the privilege of leadership, and I would definitely serve…

After attending Tarrant county college, I decided to join the Cornerstone Honors program. Over the course of a year I was exposed to the idea of being able to formulate my own ideas through rigorous course work centered, on critical thinking and analytical skills. Following the completion of the program, I was finally confident in myself as an overall person. Over the course of my first year, the Honors Texas government course had created an atmosphere where my peers and I were able to express ourselves in a positive setting and learn from each other’s perspectives. In addition, I learned to have an informed opinion about my own beliefs. As a result, I gained the confidence to run for an officer position for the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.…
