Narrative Speech
On the school’s stage I was hosting a school event. I was asked to give a short speech about children’s first experience in a palace away from their mothers love. I wrote the speech with my own words and emotions, I felt that I left an impact on the audience when I saw their tears of joy and sadness. Since that day I realized the significant power of writing. Using my pen, I turned my thoughts into letters, words, sentences. I was not a professional writer since I was a 12-year old. As a child I wrote stories with my imagination, stories about happiness and the happily ever after endings.

As I grew up my addiction to writing grew as well, but I wanted to improve my skills. Father gave me a book and said: “a great writer should be a great reader first”. Therefore, I started my journey in reading, and books became my new best friends. I fell in love with

In that summer relaxation ditched me, since I was stuck with hard work and exams. I was possessed by fear, the fear of not getting accepted. In august 30, 2016, the day were my dreams turned into reality. I received a call from The American University in Dubai that I got a full scholarship from the school of media and communications. I was wrong when I said happy endings only exist in children’s stories. However, happy endings can actually happen in real life.

Now at AUD My interests have developed. My major skills improved too. I was happy, and still because I never gave up on my dreams. I chose how my future is going to be and planned for it with my effort . I tried to achieve the best to become the best. I had faith that was unbreakable even in the tough times. Through my journey in this major I will keep on dreaming big, I will try

to change the world and turn it into a better place with my pen and paper with my thoughts and words. This chapter of my life is called, pursuing happiness, and I hope this chapter will never

This is the story of when my interest in reading and writing arose. I believe it started around 10th grade in high school. I experienced so many new things. For instance, I was involved in the band. Which I consider helped my creativity. I found a book that truly interested me and actually had me hooked from beginning till end. Some things from this time didn’t always seem to pan out, but that’s something pretty common and we’ll discuss this at a later time in this. There were people who along this time who inspired my writing and introduced new books to me to enjoy thoroughly. At this time, I believe I’ll start by talking about the people who got me on track.…

My dream for the next four years is to achieve a Physician Assistant degree at St. John’s University. As I transition to college from high school, I understand how there is no one in the world besides myself to help me reach my goal and it will require hard work as well as motivation to reach that point. I never used to write. In fact, I didn’t much like it. Little did I know that writing would become obsolete and a physiological requirement for the well being of my life. From an early age on all I did was read. I grew up in an isolated environment where books were my escape, and escape was necessary from the hardships of home. I remember being a young seven-year-old boy wearing a pillowcase around my neck fastened with a pen. I was eating animal crackers at the time, and my step dad was calling out for me. I stood up from my crouched position and raised my hand as I learned from pre-school, and said, “ I’m here daddy.” At that moment my step father grabbed me by the cape harshly compressing my trachea purposefully, shaking me back and forth with his hands around my neck as I began to choke on the appetizing cracker animal crumbs within the back of my throat. I didn’t understand at the time what was really going on. My mother came out of the room and my dad acted as if nothing happened and told me to…

In the past a thousand weeks, I feel like I have accomplished a great deal. As the quarter ends, I find myself reflecting not only how I have survived my fifth quarter but also what I have learned. The most important thing I have learned so far is how to become a better writer. I did not think it could really happen to me. I did not think I could handle all the work. I did not think I could actually become a better writer. Somehow, after all the hours of writing, and putting effort into my papers that I wrote in this quarter, I became a better writer. I did this because I concentrated on two very important areas. With help from an awesome teacher and my partner, I have become a better writer by improving my skills in the areas of procrastination and content.…

You will want to make sure that your essay explains how your chosen topic changed you in some way. Use detail, description, and/or dialogue to tell your story compellingly and vividly. Fortunately, by the fifth grade my parents were able to rent an apartment nearby our school and had found jobs in multiple Brownsville restaurants. After the move, things became much easier and we were able to have a much simpler life, though we were never able to forget the hardships we experienced and the effort we put into enhancing our lives. Today, I am sure my successes as of now are gratifying my parents as I am in the top 10% of my class, the Co-Captain of the Golden Stars Dance Team, member of the National Honor Society, Piano Club, HOSA, and in TRIO UTRGV talent search program. I attend rigorous AP classes to improve my opportunity to attend a university and have the finest future I can give myself. Although my triumphs may not look like much to most, I can assertively say that the trial of going through difficulty to have a superior future has been overcome with the comfort of focus, strength, and the right set of mind to build a better tomorrow for my family and…

I walked in on the first day of freshman year, not knowing what the school year held in store for me. I had no idea what classes and teachers were assigned to me. We went to our first period, which for me was Geometry. The bell rang and came second period. My schedule said "Public Speaking," but I did not have a clue on what that was. I began to get tense and anxious because surprises are not my thing. The teacher walked in and said, "Hi, welcome to Public Speaking. You'll be learning how to speak in front of a large group of people. We will be reading speeches and also debating against one another." My heart dropped. I started to get even more edgy. All my life before freshman year, I struggled tremendously to speak in front of a class. My…

I began writing at the very young age of eleven. The first thing I remember writing was a heartfelt song called finished. Even though I was too young to fully understand relationships, I wrote that song as if I had experienced it myself. After I wrote my first song I began to write poetry to express my feelings. Once my mom found out about my writings, I started writing poems for different programs at our church. Throughout the years, I began to enter a variety of poetry contests. In my junior year of high school I wrote a poem about bullying and won first place. Writing is a getaway for me, it always has been and it always will be.…

I never imagine that I will take any academic award in high school or any time for all that matter. When I stepped excitedly and nervously into the stage to get my third academic letter award in high school, it was the most amazing moments in my life; and without a doubt, it was a fantastic fantasy in between my hands. Arriving at my new school excitingly, Marshall High School, I met my new counselor, who was the first person I met in school. She told me about the school system, the teachers, clubs/organization and my own classes; all that was eagerness and thrilling. We walked around the school; I started imagine who I will be and who I will be friends: one of the popular students, the normal students, or the losers.…

My best friend and I have been best friends since 4th grade. Growing up a few houses away from each other we were always getting ourselves into some sort of trouble and turning the neighborhood upside down. Even to this day we are partners in crime doing the craziest things together. One fall day after school I get a message from her and it was a tutorial on how to make a ninja mask out of a black t-shirt. Obviously us being us we had to try it. So I go find a black shirt and try it out. Not gonna lie, I thought it was pretty cool. A couple minutes later I hear a knock at my door, it was Shannon and her little brother Reed, who was my little brother, Tony’s, best friend. They were dressed in all black and their faces were covered in none other then, ninja masks. They came inside and were telling Tony and I how they got here. Running through people’s yards, hopping fences, rolling through bushes. Being bored and trying to avoid doing homework anyway possible, I don’t know why but we decided that it would be a good idea to dress in all black, put on our homemade ninja masks and run around town. So my brother and I changed into all black and off we went, four figures dressed in all black, faces covered with just our eyes showing, running down the street, through yards, over fences, and summersaulting through our neighbors yards until we arrived at our destination, the park at the end of our street. When we got to the park we just went to town. We were climbing the swings, trees, slide, soccer goal posts, basically anything we could find. In the midst of all our fun and having a great time, we didn’t notice right away when two police cars pulled up to both entrances of the park basically containing us in the park grounds. Once we noticed a cautious looking policeman was approaching us, we came out from the bushes, climbed down from the goal post, and down the slide scared that we were going to get in trouble, or worse…
