Our school, STI Lipa, let us students to engage and experience the things happening in the actual world of Information Technology through our On-The-Job-Training (Internship) in related business establishments. We have given 400 hours to undergo and pursue this training that will help us to acquire knowledge and skills that will serve as an instrument to face the challenges of life in the future. It will set our mind of what does a real world of Information Technology is all about. Thus, experience is vital to one’s improvement and preparing students to their career is the best way to set them on success.
There are office procedures I have learned and applied. During On-the-job training I have learned to manage my time effectively and become responsible on my doings. I learned to ask someone’s help whenever I am not sure how to do it. Because I believe that this is the best time to ask question so it will help me how to finish the task that will be given to me in the near future. I familiarized myself in the nature of computer shop business.
I was assigned to Easy Touch Computer Center owned by Mr. Arvin A. Ariola. I submit my schedule just to make sure that there will be no conflict. He was very welcoming.
In the past four of weeks of On-the-job training I have learned that maintaining a computer shop business is a very challenging job. I helped customers having troubles on navigating the computer, teaching them how it works. I also troubleshoot for the system unit which is not working. Every four days I also update online games to make sure that it will load quickly and it will not log whenever the customer is playing. Moreover, I formatted a system unit and I have operating system and software drivers on it afterwards. On my fourth week, there is one customer who ordered the whole system unit and asked us to set it up for them. That was very challenging since we don’t have any assistance from Mr. Ariola, he allow us to do it to make sure we are learning...
