Part One
Directions: First, choose a topic. Next, complete the graphic organizer by adding details to each section so that you are planning the details for your Narrative Essay.

Montresor played a game of Farco (card game in the 18th-19th century) with Fortunado
Montresor loses, and gives up house, and wine cellar to Fortunado
Montresor finds out Fortunado was counting cards.
They were both betting their houses.

Montresor’s wife leaves him for Fortunado.
Montresor devises a plan to get revenge on Fortunado.
Fortunado wins by a landslide.

Fortunado decides to throw a party in his new house.
Montresor makes trips to the catacombs to set up his plot.

Part Two
Directions: Write the introduction for your Narrative Essay, following the guidelines you were taught. The introduction should be approximately 150-200 words in length and may include dialogue.

Part Three
Directions: Write the body of your Narrative Essay. Use the space provided to plan the dialogue and sensory details you will include as you write the body of your essay. This portion should be approximately 600-800 words in length. Be sure to follow the tips and guidelines provided in the lessons.

    The narration in the story gives readers the impression that Montresor is insane. Readers hear this story from the first person, from Montresor himself, and hear the way he perceives every event and every detail in its entirety, all from his point of view without anyone else's interfering.
