The overall structure and plot of the story plays a part in how Wolff viewed his own life within the characters. It opens with a simple yet intriguing statement: "Tub had been waiting for an hour in the falling snow" (Wolff 1). Immediately, this hook does its job drawing the reader into the story and making him wonder what is going on. In the same paragraph we find that Tub is walking down the street, carrying a rifle and seemingly, shooting the breeze. But then a car comes from nowhere, nearly killing Tub and forcing him to leap off the roadside. Inside the truck, Tub's friends, Kenny and Frank, wait laughing at the apparent "joke" that they had just played. Tub doesn't seem quite as amused, stating, "You could've killed me!" (Wolff 5). Then, the three friends begin to make their way towards the woods to go hunting for…

The story chosen is Snow White that has become the most popular princess among young girls. Snow White and similar fairy tales are playing bad with young minds by showing male characters stronger and powerful, which is also causing gender discrimination. Whether the fairy tales have significant impact on folks’ lives has been the most discussed phenomenon of the time. Many people agree to the notion that fairy tales and their myths do have an impact in young children’ life while the other rejects this. Scientifically and psychologically, it has been proven that children tend to adopt the habits they see around and that they play a vital role in shaping a child's mind and controlling his/her thoughts. “Two close readings of this version, one psychoanalytic and the other feminist, suggest that because Snow White is part of a literally as well as folkloric tradition, it may be studied as a cultural artifact and text valid in itself” (Shuli Barzilai, 515).…

I was six years old when my father strapped me into my first pair of skis, “Skiing is way more fun than snowboarding. Snowboarding isn’t even a real sport,” he jokingly told me while putting on his own skis. Little did my father know I would later become a snowboarder at the age of twelve, following the example of my mother and two brothers. During my junior year at age sixteen, I joined the brand new snowboarding club at Blackfoot High School. This thought brought a question to my mind; are there schools in the U.S. that have snowboarding as an actual high school sport? After more research on the subject, I found that only a few private boarding schools around the country offer snowboarding as an actual school sport. Public high schools usually include sports that require physical exertion, competition and a way to generate revenue like football, basketball, soccer, baseball, volleyball and much more, so I asked myself; why not snowboarding?…
