Ans: Narcotic is for severe pain. These drug block the pain pathway in the spinal cord and brain. It also changes the perception of pain in a positive manner. However, tolerance can be developed and a higher dose is required to get it effective if it is used in a long run. Besides, it has a number of side effects such as constipation, nausea, dizziness, sedation, itching, vomiting, and abdominal pain and develops addition to it.
