During dehumanization, Chinese Military members as well as women were intentionally killed and rape. “During the massacre over 20,000 women were raped by the Japanese soldiers during the six weeks of the Nanking Massacre. Most were brutally killed afterwards. The Japanese soldiers even raped girls less than 10 years old and women over 70 as well as pregnant women and nuns. The soldiers even forced incents on families. Anyone who resisted any of these were killed immediately” (Viklund). Since the occurrence of Nanking Japan has avoided the massacre and has not made a formal apology. Rarely do you hear people mention the existence of the massacre (Chang 215). A documentary was created about the terrors of Nanking and the massacre. The film stated that the evidence provided for the Nanking massacre was fake and that the Chinese communists made propaganda that threatened the face of Japan to the rest of the world (Chang 214). “The Japanese continued to even deny the existence of the Rape of Nanking till about 1994 when they publically apologized.
