Nail polish has been around for many years. People have been it to customize their nail’s appearance. Different types of nail polish can affect how long it lasts. For example, Sophia explains, “Some users have speculated that matte polish may not last as long as glossy polish because the formula is missing the ‘protective layer’ of gloss that sites above the color on traditional nail polish.”(Sophia, Para 1-5, 2014) Knowing the more about the nails, the nail polish company, the basic ingredients in nail polish, and a student example of the same procedures can help during the experiment.

There are many different chemicals in O.P.I, or Odontorium Products Inc, nail polish, but some can be more harmful than others. The basic ingredients are Formaldehyde, DBP, and Toluene. Also, formaldehyde is a chemical that helps harden your nails, but is is also harmful as it is proven to cause lung cancer.
