NYU Reflection Essay

Like everything on this planet, not everyone views NYU the same way. For many students, it’s the attraction of the city. For others, the chance to learn at the hands of renown faculty has the highest appeal. While those things are crucial to understanding NYU, I always think back to what initially drew me to the university. Whether we choose to admit it or not, we as humans want to pursue things that ignite our inner fires. At NYU, I know I will be around human beings who are in the prime of pursuing their passion. I know I will belong.
For me, that fire begins with a love for learning, and an all encompassing desire to help people in need. I’ve always been this way because it is embedded in the control center of my body. Under the Myers-Briggs type indicator, my brain type is ENFJ. My
It fascinates me beyond belief and it has fascinated me for a very long time. I memorized the cranial nerves and their functions at the age of 10; I’ve spent countless hours researching what factors are included in the 16 very different brain types involved in the Myers Briggs Type-indicators; I’ve completed an extensive research paper on the correlation between mental illnesses and creativity, and enjoyed every second of making it. I mean, my brain really loves learning about itself!
So, when you ask “Why NYU” I immediately think of the people who attend, and have attended that university. The people who attend the university, specifically in the science department, have valuable resources in NYU’s world renown labs. Those who have attended, knew what they were doing, and became some of the greatest people to have lived in their fields. Those who attend NYU, know that they belong there, and that is a quality that has been commended throughout 184 year's graduates, making their mark on the world. I know what I want. I know where I belong. All I have left, is to make my
