World Myths and Legends in Art. Myths are stories explaining why the world is the way it is. All cultures all over the world have myths and people get inspired by legends and myths. Artists are too inspired by myths and legends and have given them visual forms. Sometimes, the only surviving records of the beliefs and values of a particular culture are the artwork. Even with written records and existence of oral traditions, arts are still important since they add to our understanding of legends and myths.
