Mythical Bulgarian Crown
The constellation that I chose can be seen during midwinter on the south side of the sky from Tishomingo, Oklahoma. The constellation symbolizes the Mythical Bulgarian Crown, which was first worn from King Simeon the First in 893 A.D. The crown symbolizes majesty, might, strength, and wisdom. The story states that only royal people could wear that accessory they had to be reliable and responsible, in order to be given the opportunity to wear the Crown. It was found in 893 A.D. in a 100-degree warm day from a poor countryman, who was working on the field trying to plant potatoes on his land. The villager’s name was Dimitar Stoev and he was 50 years old. He was working on the field with his wife whose name was Ginka Stoeva and she was 48 years …show more content…
Only royal people had been allowed to wear the accessory and people believed that the members of the imperial family are reliable and responsible. The members of that family were the ones ruling the country and everybody supposed that they were doing the best for the people and the nation. In the period between the ninth and the fifteenth century the crown had been kept in the royal families. It is believed that whenever a king had put the crown on their head they were becoming wiser, smarter, and stronger. The longer it was on their head the more intelligent and strong they were becoming. For example, in 967 A.D. there had been a war between Bulgaria and all the other Balkan countries. Theoretically there had been no chance to win the conflict, but King Peter the firstborn son of King Simeon had been thinking about a way to get out as a winner from the entire situation. Wearing the crown, he had realized that he should offer every emperor of the participating countries a deal – to send their best fighter against the best fighter from Bulgaria. If someone defeats the Bulgarian warrior they can split among themselves the entire Bulgarian territory, but if the Bulgarian wins against everyone there would be no war and the emperors would not protest for anything. King Peter had been confident to bet Bulgaria on that exact fighter because he had been so strong, that he could break a rock with one

In the early 9th century, the Rus, a group of Vikings from the modern-day area of Sweden (Logan 2005: 180-207)(etymonline.com), became loosely organized under the Rus ' Khaganate. The ruler of the Rus during their Anatolian expedition in 839 was called chaganus (i.e. Khaqan) (Golden 1982: 77-92). In 860, the Rus invaded the Byzantine Empire, and subsequently launched several wars with the Byzantine Empire and expeditions to the Caspian Sea. The early leaders of Rus were most likely a Norse elite that ruled a majority of Slavic subjects (britannica.com). After two years, two of Rurik 's brothers died leaving Rurik the sole ruler. He in turn installed his nakhodniks to assist him in governing the land. The principals ' cities became Novgorod (capital) ruling over Ilmen Slavs, Polotsk – Krivichi, Rostov – Merya, Beloozero – Veps, and Murom – Muroma. The chronicle names him as the progenitor of the Rurik Dynasty(Somerville 2010: 309).…

The new world regulation, which Western Countries who were the winners of the war planned to establish, totally changed the political map of Balkan Peninsula. Ottoman Empire, Austria-Hungary and Russian Empires broke up and Romania, Yugoslavia, Albania, Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey were established as Nation States on that land. In Balkan Peninsula, such a political geography was established that almost all countries on that region could claim right on the lands of neighboring countries. The borders determined by peace treaties caused so many problems that there was no opportunity for them to bring real peace. It is clearly seen how difficult it was to save peace in such an environment.…
