My Writing Process Essay
In the class first year composition I learn many tools to improve my writing technique. Since starting this class I have changed my writing for the better. My paper writing process is more efficient and effective. The papers I have written for this class have been the best grades I have gotten on papers. I now write better because I do not stress over how long it takes me and my papers are better quality.
As for my writing process, I now start writing my thoughts on my computer to just crank out ideas. I then go over it and make my ideas thought out and concise. Next, I print my paper and check it over to see if I have any grammar mistakes or any other little mistakes then hand it to a friend to also look at it. After correcting those, I run

Peer review has helped me a lot because I got to see my paper from a different perspective. I have seen my paper so many times that the words tend to blur together sometimes. When that happens I do not notice the errors that are left or I do not see the passive voice in the paper. It is great to have a fresh eye look at your paper and give you ideas you never would have thought of.
All of these are ways I have improved my writing. I can continue to improve my writing by first having my peers look over my paper when I am on my second draft so they can help me catch any grammar errors and help with my passive voice. Another way I could improve would be going to the writing center and getting help with my writing. Everytime I go in I learn a new writing trick. One of my favorites is “Which’s ride brooms” that means when writing which you need a comma before it in most cases.
If I continue this writing process I will continue to educate myself with writing, which in turn will produce better writing for me. Writing is important in most fields students go into. While, most students won’t write full out essays in their future they might have to write brief paragraphs about a product if they’re an advertising major. Writing concisely and perfect paragraphs will be important for that

Jose Urbina Sundol Aug 29, 2014 WRC 1013.005 My high school my writing process was very alike to the process my classmates would practice. I would get my ideas from my life experience or classmates. A tool that really help me organized my thoughts was the web organizer with all the ideas I would brainstorm. I would let out my thoughts and would try to organize them the best way possible following the outline that I was going to utilize. I would ask my teachers and sisters, who have much more experience to proofread my rough draft. A problem I saw in my writing was my usage of words and my punctuation. As following the writing process it extended the essay a week more but it was well done. Problems that I would approach with, was organizing my writing in a form to make it clear. My strengths were the ideas and the details I would use in my writing.…

Each essay shows my progression and improvement, and, after a while, the class began to become much easier. I have learned that revising your writing makes it way better than before. You find your mistakes and realize you can replace words such as “bring to” to a different high vocabulary word such as “cease”. I know now that there is no way to make your paper perfect. There will always be a word, words, or sentence you could change. In addition, I’ve gained a better understanding on passive and active sentences. Once I was done writing my paper, and began to reread it I found some passive sentences. All I did was revise the sentence which helped my writing flow better. Initially, I read the first paper I wrote for the Quarter 1 Writing Assessment and I noticed that I didn’t follow the directions completely. As I read on, there were many simple sentences and not many transitional words.…

My writing process all depends on what I am writing. Some writings I can sit down and write the whole things and be done with it, while others can take me multiple days or even weeks. I normally sit down and work on it until I finish, get tired of it, or a hit a roadblock. I try to stop when I feel like I am writing the same thing over and over or if I feel like I just need a break. Most of the time, if I feel like I am writing and it is really bad, it is because it is and I need to take a break and come back to it later. Working on it in pieces normally works well for me, to break it up and take it a little bit at a time. I normally struggle when I do not like what I am writing about or when I run out of information to put in my writing. I…

My writing process has evolved since the beginning of the year. Looking back at my previous essays and writing assignments over the course of the semester, I can distinctively see a gradual improvement through the different pieces of writing. Even though the differences from my early works at the beginning of the semester might not be drastic, the small improvements are what positively impacted my writing style. From the beginning of class until now, I have discovered new strengths and weaknesses, redefined my writing process, and corrected mistakes from the essays along the way.…

My writing has changed a lot in my first-semester essay writing class. I finally took a class that teaches me useful information and how to properly write an essay. Essay Writing overall was a fun experience it was a slow start for me in the beginning but once I was able to get the work done I was fine. There were a lot of positives to taking this class. I started the year struggling to come up with ideas to write about nut now I can brainstorm and put my words down on the paper better than ever. “If I could travel anyplace in the world for free, I would want to go to North Korea. I would love to see what it's like.” I struggled with proper punctuation and the use of commas and such throughout my high school career and I still struggle with it I hope to learn more about it in the near future. “Cars are one of the best inventions ever.” I needed some direction on making my sentences longer with getting to the point at the same time. There's a lot of small things I need to still improve on but I feel like I got a good start with the Essay Writing course. I got a lot of useful feedback from Mrs.Pennings on all my essays like when to use certain words and proper punctuation and some compliments the really…

I find this technique useful because it allows me to see the grammatical and structural problems I am having at that current time. This helps me look for the problems and fix them before they happen as I write more and more of the paper. By the time I reach the end of the paper, I have a strong grip on the problems I have encountered and they do not even happen. This technique I employ also helps because I am editing the information while that specific idea is still at the front of my mind. While this form of revising and editing might not be seen as the most effective by an outsider, I have found that it greatly increases the effectiveness of looking over and editing my…

My writing has been completely transformed over the matter of a year; I can not say that I am the same writer as I used to be. I have always felt like writing was my most difficult subject and ultimately it has always made me stressed out. If a teacher asked me to write an essay automatically my week got ruined. I have always known I have struggled with writing and knew I was going to face many challenges once I got to college, this is why I took Dual Credit Composition initially. Although I was only intending to get more prepared, I actually feel like I am the writer I have always aimed to be. I feel less stressed about writing and feel more comfortable doing it. Dual Credit Composition has significantly improved my ability to further support…

Introduction - Writing Process This research assignment has been a quite challenging assignment for me. The overall writing process has been the most difficult. Coming up with a draft was the first step in my writing process. I kept writing and every time I would go back, changes were made. I revised many paragraphs and run on sentences. In the beginning, I began to procrastinate because I did not even want to think about such a complex seeming assignment. After my meeting with Professor Klein, she gave me a lot of good feedback and ideas on how to start strongly. After my meeting, I started my essay on a better track and got a few pages complete. After the peer review session in-class, I learned a lot from my peers. My classmates thankfully gave me appropriate, last minute feedback. After this, I went back and fixed any grammar or formatting issues I had, along with adding more to my final essay. This process was long and not at all easy, but I was able to get it done efficiently.…

The extra practice certainly would have benefited me, but that realization is nothing special. All the times, I could have been sharpening my craft, fine-tuning my vocabulary, polishing my punctuation, but instead I submitted essays written with the bare amount of effort. And what was my reward? A shiny A. I grew used to being complacent. Out of all King’s advice not taking writing lightly hit me the hardest, because I do indeed take it lightly. This is something I should work on, and hopefully something I can teach my future students. In the classroom, I want my students to enjoy writing and to take it seriously. It is important that they know that writing will not go away. They will need to be able to write to be able to function in this world. I hope they realize not only the functionality of writing but also the freedom it can bring. I, for example, find writing my feelings down after a particularly bad day helps my brain flush out the negativity. I would love for my students to share the feelings of flushing out your feelings on the page. The reality is more along the lines that I will be going on rants about passive voice and other grammatical errors like King does during the “Toolbox” section. I already want to do that during my field experience as it is. Hearing those eighth graders say, “they care about win” on Thursday hurt my soul. I realize that at the middle school level I should help them harvest their love for writing rather than squash their budding passion as I take off point after point on an a paper. That made me quite ashamed and gave me the idea that I should not share my writing. I do not want to pass that fear on to my future students. From now on I plan on trying not to take writing lightly. I hope to stick to this idea throughout my college…

After writing countless essays and journals along with other assignments, I can say that my writing has almost become twice as good since high school. For this I am grateful. The writing skills that I have learned will be very useful in life beyond college. I have learned that writing is an art form; And similar to pieces of art, writing improves over time and it an always be improved. Among the many aspects of writing that I have improved upon, the most important things include: How to develop an introduction paragraph, teacher feedback, and developing transitions from one topic to another.…
