My Writing Experience Essay
According to Jeanna Bryner from an article in 2007, “About 30% of students indicate they are bored due to lack of interaction and 75% report material being taught is not interesting .” While I had many challenges and success with writing over my younger years, for the most part they were pleasant experiences due to having been given the proper tools and guidance by teachers and other adults, by reading a sufficient number of complex books throughout my life, and by maintaining confidence and never faltering when I would make a writing mistake.
Guidance from teachers is essential and should never be taken for granted by students when writing. Writing is particularly complicated when your seeking to dive in on your own, but with tools that

One method I was encouraged to use by a previous teacher was the Mnemonics Method. Writer James Fenton once said, “Rhyme is a mnemonic device, an aid to the memory.” What the teaching of mnemonics is trying to attain is to help students remember words and phrases by matching them with something else. For example, the Latin word for stop is prohibere. You can scan the first six letters of prohibere and see that it’s aligned with how you would spell prohibit, which means to outlaw or stop something completely. Another recommendation given to me as a young adult was to find a happy place before I would go into the writing stages. Things that you can do before writing a story to revitalize dopamine levels could include watching a comedic video, relaxing in cool or warm water or even read a few pages of a book you enjoy. The benefits of increasing your happiness are invaluable to both your health and the works you do outside yourself. As a young adult, I was pressured to challenge myself more with the books I was reading. In one of my

My earliest memory of reading or writing is these old learning books that I used to read in preschool. My mom used to make me read them over and over to ingrain the information in my head; they ranged from the stars to ancient pharaohs and gave me a better background and understanding before I went to school. I used to hate reading but it slowly increased my interest and seemed to give me a better reading ability and I’ve kept the interest since then. During elementary school, we had to read a book a month, to keep ourselves reading, even though, most students dreaded it. It was often difficult to find a book I enjoyed, but when I did I read the entire book in just a few days. My peers tended to be a negative impact on my literacy because they would often joke that I was a nerd for reading, which would make me want to stray away from books.…

“Go listen to an audio tape in the back and finish.” I shuffle to the back of the classroom and blissfully choose my story’s audio tape. It’s an old tape player that I use. I adjust the enormous, heavy, awkward headphones on my miniature kindergarten head. Turning the volume to the max, the narrator’s voice screeched through my ears. I jolt my hands to turn the volume back down in total shock, then glance around the room to see if anyone had noticed. I listen to Froggy goes to School, but I also have to write my report. I hate writing the report because I have to draw a picture of my favorite part, then do a summary of the book. I’ve never liked writing, even to this day I don’t like writing as much. The teacher would always make me stay late in class to finish my reports…

Every day is a new beginning for more creativity and learning opportunities for everything and anything. It’s in all of us and it may take a prolonged journey to find it. For many including myself, it took going through a hardship in life to realise what type of writing style I enjoyed. Even figuring out that I actually liked writing outside of school. This style was discovered through creating a few journals. I had transferred those journal like entries into classroom assignments that were due.…

Good writing to me means knowing what you are doing. By this I mean you know how to use good grammar, punctuation, etc. I think a good writing piece will also have a noticeable start, body, and end. You know you have written something well when it clearly makes sense and there aren’t errors.…

The key topic I have learned that plays a huge role in the writing process is confidence. When writers are confident about their piece and they really love the way it has turned out, then it shows through the entire paper. I always tell my dance students that if they show the audience how much they love dancing, then more people will want to watch them. And I think the same goes for…

Writing in journals for class or writing stories for entertainment proved to be great fun. The writing level of elementary and middle school was easy to learn and work with. Arriving in high school, I felt confident in my writing skills. High school level writing proved to be more challenging. After English I, I felt unprepared for the rest of my high school writing experience. I grew to become uninterested in writing for the next two years. I procrastinated finishing any writing assignment I was given. Though I received decent grades on my assignments, I could have received better grades had I not procrastinated writing my assignments. My attitude toward writing has changed from disinterested to excited with my Composition I and II classes. I have learned much in the first semester of this course and I have grown to enjoy writing again because of this…

In school, we have been required to write many papers on many different subjects, some being timed and others not. Writing has never been something that has come easy to me, especially when put on the spot and told to write a paper in a certain amount of hours. When I write, I like to have time to think and plan my essay. Being able to revise and edit the paper makes it even better than it was before. When I am given the time to plan my essay, the writing has more depth than when I am put on the spot and have no time to think about what will go into my paper.…

Communication is one of the most challenging skills for me. When learning this new challenging skill, I am asked to initially overcome fears against the odds, which slowly appear surmountable with the passage of time. For me the ability of communication is like building a tower, then writing skill is a part of the tower and I call it “wall brick”. In order for this tower to stand the bricks must be strong. Though flourished rhetoric in writing can enhance a paper in some aspects, I believe that a logical structure is the key to quality composition. Wring, in any language, was never appreciated by me. Thus I just had some inferior bricks at first. I kept those low-grade materials and tumbledown “tower” for a long time until I transferred to another high school where I met my wonderful teachers. I used to hate writing, but when I entered my new high school the way I write has been totally impacted and was deeply branded.…

Writing has not always been a strong suit of mine. Even in the present moment I sometimes struggle with writing. I have done numerous papers, ranging from daily journals to argumentative essays. I will admit that the older I grew I realized that writing helps in many ways. It can be a form of stress relieving, which I sometimes take into consideration when I have sort of a lot going on mentally. Many writing assignments were about what I liked to do hobby-wise, what my plans were for the future career/ school-wise, how I felt about certain discussed subjects nationwide such as the election of a black president, the rights for gay marriage, as well as oversea discussions, like the human trafficking in Thailand.…

The meaning of writing to me is to put my ideas and thoughts in to words in a logical order that is easy to understand and comprehend. My experience of writing during my life is not too extensive. But clearly I can write about the knowledge I got in high school and also in the university in my country.
