My Worst Job Essay
On my very first job I worked in a warehouse where I expected to a difficult time since it include heavy lifting but, what I didn't expect was having a boss that would make an enormous impact in my life. This man changed my perspective of life and was the only person in my life that actually helped me when I really needed it while the people that I thought would always be there for me weren't there when I really needed them the most. My boss David, didn't have to do the things he did for me but he did and everyday I thank him for that. The very first day I started to work for him I thought I wasn't going to last long because he was extremely harsh on me while he treated the other workers that entered the same time as me very nicely. In the warehouse one thousand boxes would have to be loaded into each tuck and every team would have to do four trucks a day. There would be five people per truck two people would load the truck, one person would scan the boxes, and two people would fill up the conveyor belt with boxes. On my first day David decided to put me by myself to fill up the conveyor belt so I thought this isn't going to be that hard but to my surprise the majority of the boxes were really heavy as they had replaced all of the merchandise with rocks and …show more content…
I told him why do I have to do this by myself while other people have help and the only thing he said was go to work so I did. The next day I came back to work only to find out that I had to load all four trucks by myself and this was a difficult task since I had to put some of the really heavy boxes on the very top and I'm not a tall person so I found it difficult to put those boxes up there. When we finished work that day we had a meeting that only a few people would work the next day and it would only be the hardest workers. To my surprise David selected me to work that

Growing up I had two loving parents, they always wanted the best possible for me. School was always challenging for me. I never liked it, and I never had a good work ethic. It started when I was young, my parents never made me do chores, and they always rewarded me for minimal efforts of work, and it did not help me in the long run. I had a very easy life growing up, but being spoiled does not help when you become an adult. It’s very hard to just gain a work ethic, it takes a lot of time and effort.…

Even though he swears up and down that he is always nice and kind to the workers, his kindness and niceness are conditional. If he hasn't had much sleep or has had a hard day at work, you can bet your bottom dollar, someone is going to be in tears when all is said and done. And when he is tired and stressed, to put it nicely, run. The usual workers at Macy's were not there that night. Typically, you have a mousy and timid brown haired female college student, who startles at any sudden movement. Then there is a boisterous, red-haired twenty-something man, who my dad likes the best, and last is a tall and very skinny Arab man, who glares if you don't put the display shoes back right. That night there was a very rotund black man, who looked like he needed to get measured for a bra. He had a small, flat head, which was supported by a neck covered in rolls of fat. His ears reminded me of the Disney film Dumbo, but despite all of this, he seemed to be a very nice person. Unfortunate for him, one of his last customers for the night was my…

    Minimum Wage Is Bad Essay

Many countries, both developing countries like China and developed countries like United States, in order to ensure workers a minimally adequate standard of living and assist unskilled workers and teenagers, they impose the minimum wage laws, which dictates the lowest price for labor that any employer may pay. Nonetheless, although the starting point of estimating minimum wage laws is good, many economists, such as American economists named Henry Hazlitt, indicate that the minimum wage is the worst method and wrong way to enhance the wage. Why is the minimum wage bad way? As we know, the minimum wage law is used to help the poor, however, it actually hurt them. Owing to the minimum wage laws, plentiful companies have to increase the wage of unskilled workers. Thereby, they will cut down some workers to reduce the cost. Workers, who are fired, are usually unskilled people that the government tries to help. As a result, the unemployment rate raises, and skilled workers have no impact or benefits from the minimum wage laws. Furthermore, in the bulk of developed countries, the minimum wage…

The alarm sounds at five, forcing his fatigued eyes open. He wakes immediately, although, still groggy about his surroundings. Walking past his framed college degree, he gets ready for another day at work. His feet ache from the previous day as he rushes to open the store on time. Restocking the chips and soda cans, he breathes heavy due to the constant manual labor that is required of him. Although his day has just begun, it will not end for another ten hours. He finishes the tasks of the morning and gets behind the counter, awaiting the next customer. He is my father, and even with a college education, he owns and operates a small convenience store in a deteriorating mall.…

    Interview essay

I sat down to interview my high school basketball coach over the break to see what it took and how long it took for him to get where he is today in the coaching world. It took him 5 years to get his bachelor degree in sports management from Oklahoma State University. Coach Thomlinson has been coaching for 8 years and teaching for 6, the first two year he started off coaching was an assistant coaching job at Oklahoma Christian University then moved to Luther High School for 4 years and finally moved to Bethel High School where he became my head coach. He is a basketball coach and teaches health wellness. A typical work day for him are the hours 730a.m to around 4p.m out of season and in season the hours consist of about 730a.m to around 10p.m, the in season works consists of practice, planning practice, teaching, game film, game film on opponents, strategizing, and of course coaching the actual games. Out of season work just consists of teaching, practice, and finding out on want we need to work on to get better. Out of season he has the whole evening off with the family and then most of the summer with the family other than that little bit of time that is taken up by summer basketball camps but when basketball season starts “my team becomes my family” Coach Thomlinson said. The dream job for me is of course Duke University he said jokingly, But in all seriousness the dream coaching job for me would just to have a great group of kids that are coachable and of course a winning record every ear wouldn’t hurt. The highest dollar check I could get now in high school basketball would just depend on what school I went to and what their budget is, but more than likely a coaching job in Texas for high school would pay more than a high school coaching job in Oklahoma. The pros of teaching and coaching are that you can make sure that your players are being more respectful in class, keeping up in their classes, and…

On April 11th, 2017 I went Job Shadowing. I Job Shadowed Mrs. Wilson one of the many Career Technical Education teachers at Chase High School. When I arrived we greeted each other, and talk about what each class was going to do that day. Some students from her fourth period class had sent in some recipes that they wanted to make, so we sat down and made one main grocery list so that we knew how many and what they would need. I didn't get to go to the grocery store with her because I would need a permission slip; although it would have been a great experience I got to stay and make sure all the stations had all the things that they would need I also got to help some of the kids from Mrs. Armstrong’s class with some of the cooking that they were…
