My Wonderful College Life
I still vividly remember my first day in college. I was so excited in meeting new people. College felt like a liberation for me since I was far away from my family. It was my first time to be separated from them.

It was a bit difficult at first to be with people I never knew. I didn't know how I should behave just to fit in. But eventually, everything went smoothly. I met wonderful friends whom are still my best buddies even until now. Every time we would meet up, we will never fail to recall how we were back in college; how we were molded to what we are now. College is a dry run of the rest of our lives. It's a training ground on how to be successful and become good people.

College life is WAY different from secondary school life! The environment, especially at Taylor's University Lakeside Campus, is cool and amazing. The people here from all over the world with their different sense of fashion and style has made this campus special to me. But like most of the people during their first week, i was alone. The whole week of orientation was enlightening but i am still without a new friend. When the second week arrived, our lectures started and i met some classmates. They are friendly. The Taylor's University Freshies N Newbies Club (FnN) did help to break the ice. The gathering we had was very fun and laughter was in the air most of the time. When the third week arrived, i went away to Spain for 17 days and when i came back it is Hari Raya holidays. Well, i hope i can catch up with what i have missed in class and i really hope i will have some very good and close friends here and have a fruitful 2.5 years throughout this Diploma course. College life has been complicating for me so far but I'm going to enjoy or at least TRY to enjoy each and every moment of my college life.

I thought of college being the most fun time of my life, but it has been stressful. I do enjoy working on myself and improving on my work. Every time I score poor, I study harder for next time. I have not participated in any of the event yet. I always think of being more active on campus events but I guess I am not out going enough for that. However, I have made some friends and for new years night, I and one of my friend have planed visit New York City.…

In high school there are people we know because we either know them personally or have been attending the same school district together for years. This causes friendships to form and becoming close with one another. Friendships make humans feel happy and have a sense of belonging. However, when most people go off to college they feel alone at first. The reason being is because they are in a different environment with people they haven’t meet before. It’s even more difficult if you aren’t a sociable person. Also another difference is in high school you have to take the required courses in order to graduate.…

: As a first year college student I think that adjusting to college would be one of the hardest things for me to do. Making the transition into a new environment and new relationships with new people is not the easiest thing to do when you have adapted to certain people almost all your life. I will be expected to adapt to an unfamiliar environment, adjust to different living arrangements, and develop new relationships. Living with roommates may be the first ‘test’ of my freshmen experience. I will have to face the challenge of adjusting to roommates who may have very different boundaries and individual needs than family and friends from home. My roommates and I may or may not develop close friendships, but communication and compromise can build a smoother transition. College brings a unique opportunity to interact and live with people from various backgrounds and cultures. Expanding my worldview by learning about each other’s differences and similarities will likely enhance my college…

The first year of college for a young man or women can be a monumental step in their life. In my case it was. It was the first time that someone in my household went to a college in the United States, so the pressure was on. It felt like having the spotlight in a performance just waiting for your work to get judged by others. I was not necessarily scared to be judge by my family members, but I was a little worried about the transition from the skate free ways of high school that I was very used to. The schoolwork was not the only thing that was on my mind as I made my way into the college atmosphere; I was also thinking about doing things on my own and budgeting my time completely by myself.…

College really matures everyone. Sure, there are super crazy parties and extreme activities, but students become much more mature. Of course there are always people who make not-so-smart decisions, but there isn’t really bullying like there was in high school and elementary school. People don’t seem to judge other people based on where they come from, their interests, hobbies, etc. When most people around you are more mature, then everyone stops trying to impress everyone. In high school, most people wasted their time trying to impress people who would never actually like them for who they are. It is said that in college, you find yourself as an individual. You learn so much about yourself when away from home. By a college student’s senior year, they are a different person than when they walked onto the campus as a freshman. College helped them grow and develop as more responsible and mature adults.…

College is the first step into adult hood. You are no longer forced to listen to instructions and do homework. But of course not doing so, can result to consequences. These years for me were like a roller coaster. The highs, lows and standstills made me learning responsibility, because I had no one to blame, everything that went wrong was all on me. Despite the challenges I made the best of every situation and pushed forward. With my college challengges I can relate to Cox, Green and Bellafante on serval levels.…

I am ready for the challenge. I know with every obstacle that I face I will have an opportunity to learn from it. I have found that failure is the beginning of success and building character. In college, I will learn the importance of time management, work ethic, and responsibility. These are all disciplines that I will use for the rest of my life. In addition, I look forward to networking. I believe in the old saying “it’s not about what you know, but who you know”. A campus full of aspiring young adults is the perfect place to make connections and acquire diverse knowledge from others. To me College is like your first steps into reality. We have so much more freedom. However, at the same time we also have a lot more responsibilities as well. I feel like going to college is allowing me to see what life is like without my mom and dad holding my hand all the time. It puts living on my own in little bite-sized capsules to slowly but surely associate myself into living somewhat by myself. Not only is college allowing me to grow in academia but also as a young man, maturing even further into adulthood.…
