My Toys

There are many things about the past and the present that I could talk about, but I thought that we might talk about the toys of my youth and the toys of today. Do you remember the toys of your youth? I remember mine, they were much different then the toys of today. They were durable and could take a beating. Just like the saying “takes a licking and keeps on ticking”, you could play with them for hours and they wouldn’t break. The toys that I had didn’t break as easy as the toys of today. I had a variety of toys meant for boys and girls; Barbie dolls, cap guns, and even matchbox cars.
Most toys seemed to be affordable and you were able to buy more. The prices weren’t high like they are now. There were also a variety of toys to choose from whether you were a boy or a girl. Boys could get everything from G.I. Joe, Tonka trucks, and matchbox cars to baby dolls, easy bake ovens, and Barbie dolls for girls. To me the boys always seemed to have the cool toys like cars, blocks, and remote controlled cars. The girls on the other hand, had dolls and pretend baking/cooking items.

Compared to when I was a child, the toys of today have come along way. With all the technology and learning aids, children get to play and learn all at the same time. It will be amazing to see what’s in store for all children within the next ten or twenty years regarding toys and the technology that’s soon to follow.

The computer has become a must have item for households. There are thousands of games you can get that are either educational or just for fun. They are available for children and adults of all ages. There is even a small version of the laptop computer for children. They are able to use it to learn math, reading, and spelling. The computer is something I wished I had when I was growing up.
