My Responsibility To America
My responsibility to America.

I believe that it is the people's responsibility to help make America better. For example doing little thing like picking up trash, helping people when they need it, helping out injured animals and big things like helping police with a criminal when they're having trouble with it, or when someone is struggling with something go help them, or joining the military service, I don't think of it as something to just go and join just

Today, a citizen of the United States has several duties. Obligations such as voting not only allow the people to voice their opinions, but also show that they care for the nation as well. In my community, I have displayed a great amount of service. In school, I am a peer helper during my P.E. hour to help the kids with disabilities perform P.E. like any other high school student would. I also went to a prom for kids with disabilities at my church as a date/escort for one of the kids. Over the summer I worked as a respite worker for a week to help a young girl with Down syndrome at a church camp. Also, one of my favorite times of the year is when I get the opportunity to volunteer at the softball Special Olympics. Because a lot of these kids and adults do not have the ability to perform these tasks on their own, I become a dependent companion for them to lean on. I show my leadership by doing what is right if someone were to make fun of them, and treating them like I would treat a friend. This all wraps into the patriotism for our country. I do not do these actions to just call myself patriotic; I do it because I enjoy to and believe that it is my duty as a good…

“To be an American for me means freedom and justice. I also think being an American is a big responsibility.” This is the response of 10-year-old Neil from Wisconsin when asked the question, “What does it mean to be an American?” Neil is right; Americans have responsibilities that are imperative to living in America and helping the United States be prosperous and successful. If everyone were to learn and follow these obligations, America could be the utopia it was meant to be. These certain responsibilities are: teaching responsibility, participating in voting, and supporting and defending the Constitution.…

The America I believe in is a beautiful and fascinating place. It is full of so many people that every now and again need to build more places for people to work. But the only reason we have a great deal of people in America is for the cause of some people wanting to get away from the wars, to help their family while they are in need, to not have to worry about getting bombed every day, but to be free. They also come here to get jobs and go to school to learn how to get jobs. And to get the chance to actually believe in something other than an object or their rulers. And since we are in America, we don’t have to worry about that because we have the freedom to believe in who or what we want. We have the freedom to say or at least think what…

Doing things out of the kindness of my heart to help another, as well as obeying laws, are things I consider good citizenship. To be a good citizen is to have good intentions. "By "Citizenship" we do not mean legal documentation status. We mean living in a pro-social way at every scale of life. We mean showing up for each other" Eric Liu and Nick Hanauer. Great Citizenship. Being a citizen is much more than person who legally belongs to a specific country with legal rights. It involves random acts of kindness not only when it’s convenient but also when it’s inconvenient. Partake in good acts even when others aren’t around such as recycling, throwing misplaced trash in nearby trash cans, helping elders with their groceries, so on and so forth.…

    My American Rights

For all of my life, I have been an American citizen. I’ve never thought of my freedoms and rights as being a blessing, for I’ve never known anything different. But now that I have gone to DC and have seen all of our national buildings and landmarks, like the white house, Arlington Cemetery, the Jefferson Memorial, and so on, I now have a newly founded appreciation for my liberties. All of the rights I have as an american are very special and unique, for the concept of everyone being equal was new in our world. Also, the bravery of our forefathers is astonishing, for they could have been tried and hung for treason if we didn’t win the war. And the government they establish is completely original and is completely, as put by our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln, “of the people, by the people, for the people,” and in my opinion, constructed in liberty, and most importantly, freedom.…

I believe it is every able body citizen’s duty to somehow give back to our great nation. President John F.
