The objective of this paper is to present my personal ideas on how to have effective classroom management. To run an effective classroom, the teacher should have a well developed classroom management plan that should be utilized at all times. A well thought out classroom management plan will not only be a major contributor to your own success as a teacher but it will also help promote your students ability to learn in the classroom. A classroom management plan should be a tool that is not always set in stone but something should be revised when necessary to get the most out of students each and every year. My Personal Classroom Management Plan

A highly developed classroom management plan is so important to the success of the teacher and his or her students. An effective classroom management plan should help promote students ability to learn in the classroom. To have an effective classroom management plan there are many things that should be considered when setting a plan up. First there should be a theory or base to the plan. Second there needs to be specifics about the management plan. The specifics should be the desired behavior, rules of behavior and prevention of any misbehavior in the classroom. The last thing that an effective management plan should have is communication. The teacher should be able to communicate effectively the classroom management plan that they want their students to follow. Following these ideas, I am going to describe how I want my personal classroom to be run one day. I want my classroom to be a positive learning environment for students and one where students can gain personal growth. I want to be able to impact a student’s life and give them a foundation that they can build upon as they grow older in their academic endeavor. To do this having an effective classroom management plan will help lead me to these goals. How Will I Present and Conduct Myself as A Teacher?

Classroom discipline refers to teachers’ efforts to help students conduct themselves responsibly (Charles, 286). In order for me to maintain this type of behavior from my students, I must first model this behavior myself. As a teacher and someone trying to develop a positive classroom environment, it is my responsibility to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor at all times. I first need to sit up an effective classroom management plan. I want my students to know what I want and what I don’t want. I have to make sure that I model positive behavior at all times. I have to make sure that I give positive verbal praise when my students show positive behavior. When I get behavior that I don’t want, I have to make sure I act quickly and appropriately. I want to know my students inside and out and be committed to them and their learning. As a teacher, I will adjust my practice based on observation and have knowledge of all of my students’ interests, skills, abilities, knowledge, family situations and peer relationships. As an educator, I shall have knowledge of the subjects that I am teaching. When teaching subjects to my students, I will know each one of their ability levels so that I can adjust and deliver the content so that it will specifically meet their individual needs. Behavioral Goals for my students:

In order to have an effective management plan, their needs to be behavioral goals in place that all students know and understand. In my classroom I really liked and would implement Wong’s approach to discipline. Wong clarifies the responsibilities of both teachers and students and the importance of teachers teaching procedures to their students that they are expected to follow. I will make sure that these behavioral procedures on given to the students on the first day of class. According to Wong, what is done on the first day of school...
