My Passion For Horses
Many students have a special talent or hobby that has helped shape them into the person they have become today. Often times, these interests cannot be expressed through an application. The individual most likely spends a lot of their time practicing this talent or hobby. It may give them the drive to excel in other areas of life, including school or work. Eohippus evolved into the genus Equus which is closest to the horses of today. As the climate and land changed the horses moved across the Bering Strait into Eurasia and Africa and humans find their way into the horse history. They domesticated horses…

My high school experience has leaded me to discover several academic strengths and interests, which now relate to my career choice for the future. My academic interest in financial literacy has made an impact on my academic strengths, which include: leadership, organization, communication, critical-thinking, and writing. Due to my interest in financial literacy, I want to pursue a career in business and real estate. This interest spiked during my junior year while I was recovering from knee surgery. After my procedure, I was expected to be absent from school for five days; however, due to a complication, I was forced to stay home for an unexpected, extended period of time. Before my surgery, I gathered all the homework that I anticipated missing.…

When I was in 5th grade, I was helping my 4H group with our International night table when I decided to play my luck at the raffle table. I put all my money into one basket and actually won the raffle basket. It was a basket for horse lovers and included horse grooming products and books about horses. I never rode a horse before because I was born with multiple disabilities including a tethered spinal cord and life threatening latex allergy. My biggest challenge in life has been living on the autistic spectrum. I could not be around crowds, loud noises and I avoided being part of groups and activities. I did not have self-confidence or a passion and my autism affected my ability to socialize. My mother saw how excited I was about winning and she took me to the horse farm for a riding lesson. I soon found a passion. It was at this time, that the spina bifida was diagnosed. I had major surgery to repair the defect. After my surgery, I had to face the challenge of living with a partially paralyzed bowel and bladder and had to learn how to use my legs again. At first I would walk alongside the horses, and then I began riding horses again. The horse I was riding and walking with name was Pippin. He never gave up on me no matter how weak I was. Pippin was my best friend and was always there for me when I needed someone to talk to. A year after my surgery Pippin and I were getting ready for my horse show. I ended falling off because I was still weak. When I fell Pippin did not run away like must horses. He stayed right by my side till I got up. The next week I won my first horse competition and fell in love with the sport. Pippin soon became part of the Masterton Family for all the work he did with me, and for his reward he now spends his days retired in a great big barn with a nice field.…

For example, I plan on majoring in culinary arts, and while it might seem funny for a person with a sever case of ADHD to be making your food properly, I find that this is the one area where I am able to excel beyond expectations. The art of cuisine is one that relaxes me and calms me down to the point where I can dedicate my full attention span to one specific topic for a mass period of time. From early on in my life, I have had an undenying interest in food culture inspired from my parents creating outstanding dishes with unfamiliar names. We would sometimes go out to fancy restaurants for dinner and specifically order outlandish meals and then see which one of us could best replicate the dish the next day for dinner. The first time I won the game with my parents, I flawlessly replicated a popular Australian Beuschl dish, (pig liver and kidney) which I was given much praise for by my parents. From that day forward I have realized the…

The first thing that is very clear when somebody compare my personality with a horse is the tendency that both of us have to participate in a group. You can imagine a herd of wild horses in a range when the wind is bellowing under their hair, such beautiful herds have always been the source of inspiration for painters and photographers, and because of their fascinating herds the horses are known as social animals. The horses and I like crowded places where could be a race field for a horse or a public place for me. I love attending in family gathering, parties, public events, celebrations, and everywhere that I can spend my time by doing amusement works. In addition, I have a strong ability to adopt myself with others, if those things fit in with my ethical consideration,‎ exactly such as a horse that adopts itself with various situations. Indeed, similar to a horse in its herd when I am in a group, I feel more safety than when I am alone.…
