My Passion For Ffa
Waking up at five a.m. to go to a contest or even to travel is not what most teenagers would want to do on a Saturday morning. There are a few times when being in the FFA is not always smooth sailing. Waking up to put on the blue jacket and official dress is not what I pictured doing for the next 3 months. Wanting to run for state office, I soon found out that it was sometimes necessary to do. My decision to run for state officer in FFA has been caused through many things, the present officers and my advisors encouraging me, it being a great way to develop my leadership skills, and my passion for FFA. The decision to be in the running for state officer was not chosen overnight, but it was encouraged by the current officers and my advisors over time. They saw something in me that most people do not. Both of them told me I was the right candidate and I would not let them down. It took a lot of praying and …show more content…
FFA holds a special place in my heart and to be able to serve the members of our organization caused me to make the decision of running for state officer. Each day I have the chance to share my love and passion for this organization locally, but the thought of possibly being able to share it with the state for an entire year, to kids just like me, sold me in on the idea. The passion I have and want to instill in others will always be something that will never be truly understood. The idea of becoming or even running for a state FFA officer did not cross my mind two years ago. Without the encouragement and willingness to do bigger things, the decision to run would not be made. Even if I do not get the chance to be an officer, I still know that the encouragement and support will always be there for me through my years of FFA and wearing the blue

While contests were starting I remember sitting in that classroom angry with myself for never applying for a position and still regretting it until today. Even though I have never held a position in Eta Delta I truly believe I could be very successful as Vice President of Communications. I consider myself hard working and diligent, having made the Deans list all three semesters at UNF, in high school managing being the swim team captain, the director of arts for Mini Dance Marathon, and fund raising money for my mission trip to St. Lucia while still getting straight A's has made me confident enough to say that about myself. Although standing in front of a group of people and speaking may not be a strength of mine I really do believe I can make…

One moment I had that I will never forget is when my friend Libby Bridges who is another teen in PFO, was sharing HER impactful moment to the leadership team. I was sitting there and listening to her talk about how she used to be afraid that she will never make an impact on the world. Libby is a person that I really look up to in PFO. She shows impeccable leadership skills and she has the kindest heart. To hear her talk about her fears and watching her be so vulnerable makes me start to cry. In this moment I realized how surrounded by love I was, and how grateful I was for the opportunity PFO has given me. PFO has given me the chance to make beautiful connections and bonds that I wouldn't trade for anything.…

According to the FFA mission statement FFA provides members with personal growth, career success, and premier leadership. During the year of 1928 the largest youth organization was found. This organization is known as FFA and contains over half a million youth members around the nation. However some members are financially unstable to pay the membership fee of seventeen dollars; to become a year long member in FFA. This is why school districts should provide money for those who cannot afford the membership dues. Students who become interested in FFA should not be held back due to financial issues. A simple 17 dollars can guide a student into a program where they find their careers and develop leadership skills that will last a lifetime.…

FFA is something that I love. I have been in a leadership position for the last three years as a class officer, Washington County Junior Livestock Association officer and FFA officer. I believe my purpose in life is to serve others. Leaders must serve the needs of others rather than their own desires. One reason I wish to run for district office is to serve the FFA and its members. Agriculture is the backbone of our country. FFA and Agricutlure offer the opportunity to serve others. In every thing I do I make sure that the job is done correctly amd thoroughly. If you choose me to hold an officer position I promise I will not let you down. You may ask,"Why choose you over someone else?" I will work to the best of my ability and do all…

What made you become a correctional officer? “I have always wanted to do something in the law enforcement field. I’ve always had a passion for the law and enforcing the law. I knew at a very young age that I would be working is this field. Being in a teenage mind, we often don’t think that the future is now. We tend to describe what we want our future to be like, but don’t ever describe how are we going to get there and what are the characteristics that are needed. That’s what FBLA is here for to teach us those characteristics to become successful. Like I’ve mentioned before, Confidence, I feel as if confidence is the key to life. Without confidence, I wouldn’t be standing here today among you all speaking my mind. In fact wouldn’t be standing here today as the VP of Hennery W. Grady High school’s FBLA. Before I became the VP I had to persuade to my peers and stand up tall & tell them why I should be there VP and when I actually got picked honestly I can say I did get just a bit more confidence since that day forth.…

Once accepted to the Boy's State program I ran for and was ultimately elected Boy's State Treasurer. As the Boy's State Treasurer I spent a day shadowing the real Delaware State Treasurer whom I have remained in contact with to this day. During the five day experience I had a total of 10 hours of sleep due to staying up late to help others craft legislation and to ensure that said legislation was economically viable. Boy's State was by far the best program I have ever attended. I had the opportunity to meet other young, driven men from all across the state and get to develop friendships with them. At the end of Boy's State I was awarded a Good Citizen Citation by the American Legion. I also met State Senator Bryan Townsend whom I saw again when I delivered a speech about the benefits of GMOs at a Farm Bureau event. As a student I have maxed out the math courses at my school. Due to this I independent studied AP Calculus C over the summer through John Hopkins CTY online. During my senior year I will independent study Multi-Variable…

FFA develops competent and assertive agricultural leadership. Premier leadership can be obtained through many activities hosted by the FFA. One way in particular, is by attending one of the leadership and growth conferences. During these conferences members go to workshops where they learn how to become better leaders, to make a difference, and to be successful throughout life. These are very fun and beneficial conferences that all members should take advantage of. FFA members are more likely to be employed than the average high school student (National FFA Organization 4). When local FFA advisor, Matt Petrowitz, was asked what FFA meant to him, he said, “FFA to me means an organization where everyone belongs and is about leadership and tradition” (Petrowitz). He is proof that premier leadership is gained through FFA…

4-H has been an important part of our family throughout my entire life. My dad has been on the Ida County Fair Board for over thirty years and my brother and I have spent a lot of family time helping at the fairgrounds throughout the years, as well as working with our family’s livestock and farming operation since we were very little. I remember when I was four years old, I would tag along with my mom to my brother’s 4-H meetings when he started in the 4th grade. I couldn’t wait until I could be old enough to be a “real” 4-H’er and join myself! I feel fortunate for the years of leadership experience in my 4-H club as a treasurer and vice president. Being a part of 4-H has exposed me to several opportunities to demonstrate my dedication, determination,…

It was always a dream of mine to be the VP of Juniors for Midwest NCSY ever since 7th grade. I wanted to take my love and devotion and bring it to the table to make Junior NCSY better than it ever was. In order to get the position that I wanted I had to be voted by the people, and give a speech. I had stage fright and was terrified to speak, but I pushed myself and did it anyways. After so many years of hard work, so much time preparing, I didn’t get the position I so much desired. Immediately I was surrounded by my friends, and I ran out of the room. Through the tears running down my face I told my chapter director that this wasn't it for me, that I will still get up there and I will run again next year, because I will not give this one up. Of course, I will try again, but this time I will succeed. This year I serve as Midwest NCSY’s VP of Juniors as well as am the President of my chapter. “If you don’t succeed try try again.” The classic middle school picker up-er, that really defines me. Throughout my life there have been times where people doubted my far fetched dreams but I ignored what they said and reached for the stars anyways. This “flaw” to me isnt really a flaw at all, to other people maybe, but to me it's what's gotten me as far as I am…

America has been founded on, and continuously defined by, extraordinary leaders. Without the exceptional guidance and tireless dedication of generations of these men and women, our country would not be the great nation it is today. What they stood for, and what was accomplished under their guidance, has inspired me; I am driven to someday continue and protect this nation’s greatness through my leadership. This desire, paired with my passion for the service, is what has, and continues to, motivate me to attend a U.S. service academy. Furthermore, our nation has given far more to me than I will ever be capable of returning; the opportunities, education, and freedoms I have experienced throughout my life have built the skills and character I possess today.…

A leader is defined by The Cambridge Dictionary as, “a person who manages or controls other people, especially because of their ability or position.” When I read this definition of a leader, the first person who comes to my mind is my high school Student Senate adviser. As I first began high school I didn’t really have a place to go or a group to be with. I tried joining a variety of different clubs and organizations at my school and found that FFA was where I belonged.…

Around this time in September, thirteen years ago, I saw a beautiful event happen. I was sitting in front of the small television in my living room and I witnessed Mike Piazza hit a homerun in Shea Stadium. At that moment, I was hooked for life.
