My Most Embarrassing Moment. What is an embarrassing moment? I would have to say, it is when things go not as planned. My most embarrassing moment happened February 12 2011. I was a junior at Neptune High School. I was a member of the N.J.R.O.T.C. unit there. My unit was participating in the Senior Bowl halftime show, which was a tradition every year in school. At the Senior Bowl everyone would be there including local news stations and newspapers so it was a big deal to get everything set up accordingly. We practiced for two week through rain and sun to make everything was planned perfectly and that’s everyone knew what to do. During the game one of our main members got sick and had to be taken to the hospital, my best friend Leila and I became responsible for bringing out a balloon of Popeye. The orders were to march out on the field carrying Popeye. Popeye was to be laid down at the fifty yard line. We were to raise him up on cue. We were instructed to then march off the field with him. All of this was to be done in a fully packed stadium with hundreds of people watching. We marched out on the field without any incident. Although the wind was a little strong, but not bad. We laid Popeye down on cue. My best friend decided to curl her line on the ground next to his feet. On cue we began to raise Popeye. My friend’s foot suddenly got caught in the rope, she rose in the air with Popeye , I started running after them so I could tried to unravel him from the rope but it was going to fast. I finally caught the rope and was able to hold on to it Everyone in the stadium started to laugh. The game was televised on national television. We were also seen on local television. My family and friends all watched the game and, of course, the halftime show. I have never experienced anything like that. Now I look back, and I laugh all the time about it.

Everybody from the team was there at the field. If you looked at our team you might think that we were just a bunch of small town screw-offs. We definitely gave the other team that impression as we warmed up. Our team didn’t take things too seriously. In the batting cages, we practiced our home run swings, and trots. The infielders, including me, bare handed the ground balls hit to us by one of the coaches, and jump threw the ball back to the first baseman pretending we were young Derek Jeters. The outfield dove at every ball that was hit at them. Even if the ball was coming straight at them, they ran back and come forward again so they could dive and get the ball. Yes, we were a bunch of…

The ball seemed to fly slow motion through the air. As the ball whizzed through the air the goalie jumped to the right. We got tense Evan had kicked it to the right. We soon realized we had nothing to worry about. The ball flew through the hands of the goalie and into the gaol! We all went wild! We had won the championships!!!! We all cheered and hugged Evan. We were very excited. When chanted “who let the dogs out?!!” (because we were called the Bulldogs) for what seemed like forever. We then went to the trophy presentation. The trophies were huge. We then went to Mountain Mikes to…

After we warmed up it was time to play the final game. We were the home team so we were in the field first. I was playing center field and it was so hot outside that I felt like I was going to melt. When the umpire yelled, ”Play Ball!” I jumped up on my feet and was ready for the first pitch. On the very first pitch the batter hit the ball straight to me. I watched the ball go up in the air and I was putting my glove up in the air ready to catch the ball but then I lost track of it. My sunglasses did not help me with the sun. I was trying to find the ball, but then SMACK! The ball hit me straight in the mouth and I fell to the ground like a sack of…

“LET’S GO BOYS!!!! LET’S WIN THIS!!! BEAT THESE RAVENS!!!!!!” The crowd was screaming and chanting wildly as we began to run out of the locker rooms and onto the large football field. I lead them, raising my arms up and down to signal the crowd to get louder with their cheers. As I did this, I was also sprinting to the middle of the field through the large slit that was cut for my eyes. I turned back to the crowd in the stands, and the players ran around me, with smiles of their faces, to get to their positions and the bench. I started to jump and raise my arms, “ FROGGY!!! FROGGY!!! FROGGY!!!” They all chanted my name in union, some of them even had signs and horns! A large smile crept onto my face behind my large mascot mask, and I couldn’t…

The next morning we parked our coolers and headed to the stadium. It was time to do some serious tailgating! This was an amazing experience the fans were awesome and so much fun. The time has come. Time to enter the stadium to watch the Greenbay Packers play the Chicago Bears. Now, at this point, I haven’t been in the stadium. The sound of 78,000 fans cheering on their teams was totally awesome. We found our seats and settled in to watch the big game, with a beer and a couple of hot dogs of course. When Greenbay came onto the field the crowd went nuts. The experience of watching a game in real life as opposed to television was an experience I can’t explain. It gave me…

One day my coach pulled me to the side and told me I was going to be the quarterback for the game. I thought I was going to die! I never played quarterback so I was very nervous about messing up. I instantly became sick and thought about leaving the game. My mom was on the sideline, so I went over to her and told her about me being afraid to throw the ball. My mom grabbed me by the shoulders and told me to fight my fear, and focus on being the best quarterback the team ever saw. I turned around, got in the game, they passed me the ball, and I threw the ball directly…

It was a sunny but cold October day. My team was the Pink Dolphins and we played the Purple Striped Unicorns. On my wrist I had my lucky “M” . My best friend, Alexis, was on the other team. We decided that we would hit the ball just so we could end up on the bases so we could talk to each other. Until the fateful moment when my coach said that we cannot talk to the other team.…

Have you ever had a moment in your life where just one second can change it forever? My Baseball Showcase was one of those moments. A baseball showcase is an event that allows students-athletes just like myself, to show off baseball skills in front of college and professional recruiting scouts. The emotional and physical drive that day gave me is a constant reminder to never give up and to always keep pushing no matter what.
