My Life Story
My Life Story My life has been on a road of ups and downs just like a roller coaster. I have experienced the good, the bad, and the ugly. I know I will continue experiencing these things throughout life. I will briefly talk about what my family was like. What I wanted to become when I grew up. What were and what still are my hobbies. And what are my personal, profession, and academic goal. From my childhood to where I am now is what this paper will be about. When I was young I used to live with my mom and dad. They decided to separate when I was about six years old, just as I finished kindergarten. I have one full blooded sister (Dominique). After they separated I went to go live with my dad, grandma, and grandpa. I would visit my mom every weekend. My mom remarried in 2004. Then she had my younger sister (Kaile) a year later. Then three years later she had my little brother (Kye). So I am the oldest of four children. My dad’s side of the family isn’t really active. Except that my grandpa would take us to go play sports. My mom’s side of the family is very active. A lot of sports were involved. My mom was a category 1 cyclist, which means that she raced with the pro cyclist but the only difference is she didn’t get paid to train. Dominique and I were always into sports, we played basketball, soccer, tennis, etc. And we always traveled with my mom to see her race. So that was a fun experience. When I was in elementary school I said I wanted to become a doctor. I wanted to help people when they were hurt. And that’s what my grandpa wanted me to become. As I went into middle school I said I wanted to become a lawyer. I wanted to become a lawyer because my grandparents wanted me to be one, and also because they made a lot of money. To my grandparents, it was always about being able to support myself and my family, so they wanted me to make a lot of money. Now going into high school I decided that I wanted to be a professional sports therapist. I wanted to travel

Personal background starts off small, it changes and grows over time into something big, it grows into an identity. Walking down the hallway at school, seeing someone standing alone, my first instinct is to make conversation, compliment, or even just smile at him or her. This instinct came from someone once telling me an act so small could turn a person's entire life around. As a kid, reading encyclopedias about random topics, consumed my time. Many days were spent coming home to find an injured wild animal in my dad's arms waiting to be saved. My dad would sit outside and draw animals, trees, and anything else he saw. Nothing excited me more than trying to draw whatever my dad drew, and as good as he did. Any assignment that was handed to…

Throughout the past year I have endured several life changing occurances. One of my family members troubled through the treturous stages of cancer and unfortunately has passed at this time. If I have taken anything away from this, it is that family is the most important resource in a persons life. Without those people who tell you that you can, regardless of the circumstances, becoming succesful could be very challenging. After clearing my head, I was able to start thinking of a career choice that would make me enjoy going to work. I encountered an opening at a local CVS/Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician and applied. After being hired, I immediately fell in love with the surroundings, the people, the patient interaction, and the knowledge…

Everyone is asked one question, at a very young age. That question is: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” There isn’t a time I can remember when an adult didn’t ask me this question. When I was six, I would respond with the usual movie star, fashion designer, or veterinarian. My answer would be said confidently, as at this age I walked through life as if it were no big deal. My answer occasionally changed to fit with my many childhood phases, but my view on the question stayed the same. When I was a child, I replied to this inquiry the same way everyone else did; I answered with an occupation. It took me years to discover my new approach to this question. My new response did not include my dream job, but how I saw myself in the future.…

My whole life since the age of 3 revolved around sports. I excelled in soccer and continued to play at the collegiate level. When growing up with a big and spread out family, home life tends to be a little erratic. Since my mother was not the best of children, she had a few boyfriends in her time. She had my sister when she was six-teen, and my brother and I when she was around twenty. My biological father supported her until they both decided that they needed to go their separate ways, and she then married my step father. My family at the time consisted of my parents, my six-teen year old sister, my twin brother, and myself at age eleven. I had always thought of my family as pretty close to perfect until people started to talk. I first learned of this by my neighbor-friend’s mother, who whispered to her kid about why I had to leave every other weekend to visit my “other” father. I had never before thought of this as a strange idea, so I asked my sister about it. She told me our mother’s story. Once my mother learned of this, she was not upset with me for asking so many questions, and for that I’m glad. I learned more about my mother that day and I respected her for recognizing her past mistakes. Since she had, what I think to be, a pretty messed up life before; she corrected that and raised her children to be respectable people.…

I recall being asked by my relatives: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” and instead of an answer I would give them a blank stare. I had no idea how to respond. Not because there was nothing I found appealing, but because I felt passionate about too many things. I loved music, math, design, helping others, working with kids, analyzing situations and solving problems. There were to many career paths that I liked, but it always seemed to me that in order to follow one I would have to give up the rest.…

I have always been the “caretaker” in my family. If someone were hurting, he or she came to me and told me his or her symptoms, and I did my research and told them what I thought about it. Before that, when I was about three years old, I took care of my newborn baby sister. My mama was sick, and my step dad was at work, so I took care of my sister. People ask kids what they want to be when they grow up, and they always get some crazy answer like a movie star. When my mama asked me, I said a doctor. I have since learned that doctors do make a lot of money, but they spend most of it on insurance. My career goal has changed; now I want to be a nurse of some kind, but it is still in the medical field. My grandma said that I like school so much that I will not stop going until I become a doctor. She was right about many things, but I am not so sure about that one. A Registered Nurse (RN) is a good career with a wonderful history, and a nice salary, but you need specific qualities to be an RN.…

When I was younger, I typically received the things I wanted, things such as toys – being that I was an only child – and never worried about hearing the answer, “No”. I had this insane idea that the world revolved around me. Although I still had the concept in my head, that it was all about me when I was informed I would be an older sister, I knew that nothing would be the same. Before I was a sister, I never took anyone else into consideration, and I was never told to do otherwise. I was around four years old, when this news has changed my life forever.…

Everyone in life will have their own personal obstacles they will have to face in life. Some people will mentally shut down and give up when faced with a challenge. Others will take their challenges and use them to better themselves. The obstacles that I have faced in my life have never hit me harder than they have these past few months. This being my senior year, I always expected it to be the most laid back and relaxing year of my high school career. When in fact I set myself up for one of the biggest challenges of my life so far, by signing up for multiple online college classes, helping out with activities all over the school, and playing football for the first time since freshman year. Although, under all this immense pressure, this is where my true colors came out. I didn’t stop working to my full potential,…

It was a perfectly normal Saturday night, until I sat on the couch. I expected to enjoy a funny movie with my dad, but instead I got a trip to the hospital. I sat on the couch, and then I felt a sting in my elbow. At first, it felt like I got a shot at the doctor, but it slowly got worse, and felt more like a knife slicing into my elbow. I winced and sprung up from the couch. I squinted and my eyes scanned the spot where I just sat down. Aha, I thought. There was a small piece of plastic, and it looked like it broke off from a container.…
